May Forecast 2013

Happy Beltane season! The first of May marks the beginning of the pastoral summer season, and the air is generally rich, colorful, bright, filled with cheer and romance at this time of year. If you’re not feeling quite relaxed in your easy chair or hanging out at the beach with a pina colada and some friends, you’re actually in good company. Although it is the season of increasing light we are also in the midst of great changes reflected to us in three back-to-back eclipses, the first of which we experienced on April 25th. Over a period of weeks eclipses help us purge, weed out, and release what no longer fits into the overall picture of our lives and is even detrimental to our health or progress in some way. They serve as cathartic, catalyzing agents for the changes that we know deep down inside we need to make but find it hard to initiate on our own. During an eclipse God descends into flesh and form, and extends a hand to us in our time of need. Something may die or be taken away, hopefully leaving us with a profound sense of liberation. The new is not yet visible but we may sense that it is underway, or that something is on its way. As sparks of God or Divinity we must remember that we called this change forth from the core of our being. We must exercise our powers of will to move forward, yet be receptive enough to know when to surrender…”Not my will but Thine be done”.

Runes for May 2013 – Mannaz and Tiwaz

Before I could even reach into the bag of runes, one flew out as I shook it, and it was the rune Mannaz.  Mannaz is the rune which literally represents Mankind, as a whole. In its highest aspect is the rune of the Divine intelligence within humanity, on both individual and collective levels. It relates to various aspects of intelligence such as reasoning, memory, and concentration, and to the spiritual aspirant it indicates that pure self-realization is attainable now. Whenever Mannaz shows up it’s time to look in the mirror and to our own skills and resources instead of projecting outward onto others, whether for good or ill. We must take responsibility for our actions and decisions, realizing that no matter where or what position we may find ourselves in we always have some degree of personal choice on some level. It may be that whatever we seek outwardly is closer than we realize, and is to be found within ourselves.

A supporting influence for Mannaz this month turned out to be the rune Tiwaz, so named after the sky god Tyr. This rune indicates that justice, focus, and leadership are qualities to be developed or utilized. Victory and the ability to overcome longstanding challenges is possible now. Mannaz paired with Tiwaz point to the importance of knowing where our true strengths lie, and drawing upon these for success, whether in business, relationships, or other pursuits.

5-9-13 New Moon Solar Eclipse in Taurus

This could be what is called moon of mixed blessings, for indeed the moon is exalted in the fertile comfort-loving sign of Taurus, while other factors are adding an edge to the new beginning we are experiencing. It is a beginning that will require definite endings, in order for us to begin anew in certain areas. The Solar Eclipse occurs at 19 degrees of Taurus, closely connected with Mercury and Mars. The energy here is both strongly inquisitive and acquisitive. The South Node conjunction involved in this eclipse is underlining to us what kind of  baggage we’ve been carrying around for ages, and what kind of people, places, ideas, and things that we tend to cling to for better or worse. We are up face to face with what is possibly the world’s most prominent mental stress factor which is our resistance to change. The test here is truly letting go – letting go of whatever does not serve us, support us, resonate with us, and does nothing but take up our precious space and energy in order to sustain merely for its own survival rather than for any real benefit.

Taurus relates to a few basic things that make the world go around: Money, Self-Worth, and Values which have no set price other than those we personally assign to them. At this juncture many will ask themselves what they are working toward, struggling for, and saving up for a rainy day. In addition, they will ask WHY. What adds to or takes away from personal esteem, and what seriously needs weeding out in order for us to not just survive but thrive? What are we spending too much money on, and what would be very worth spending money on and yet we hesitate to invest where we need to most? World currency may also become even more of a hot topic in the coming weeks, as global currency revaluation and exchange rates are shifting rapidly.

Taurus, ruled by Venus is also about beauty, and so relates not only to some of the basic necessities in life, but some of the luxuries that make life sweet. Floral bouquets are available at the grocery store because they feed the senses, and function as enhancements to many occasions. In love, Taurus likes a lot of physical affection, so at this time it will be easier to express affection to loved ones.

This New Moon eclipse is in conjunction with the major asteroid Pallas Athene, named after the goddess of creative intelligence. In the sign of Taurus this goddess represents the perception through and expression of all the beautiful and enjoyable aspects physical existence. Taurus is a very feminine and “tactile” sign, where touch is important and a conscious connection to the earth is second nature. This placement encourages and enhances our relationship to ecology and earth medicine. It also stimulates us in artistic ways, toward the outward manifestation of our creative impulses through a wide variety of mediums.

In regards to this Solar Eclipse in Taurus I think of Kokopelli, a Hopi fertility deity depicted with a flute and seeming hunched back upon which he carries seeds, unborn babies and burdens. His burden basket that appears as a deformity holds the hopes, fears, needs, the wishes of many – in a sense the weight of the world upon his back. In essence Kokopelli is gladly willing to carry this heavy burden for us, but he is however as much a trickster as he is a healer. We must be willing to see our own projections and take responsibility for our actions. Like Kokopelli we can choose to consciously carry ourselves, our obligations, plans and our burdens with dignity, or we can try to escape the harshness of our current reality through a variety of addictions. Inner and outer lightness don’t occur through avoidance, but through purification. Perhaps it is time to empty our own basket, respectfully, or to reevaluate what’s inside of it. What has slipped down to the bottom and become insignificant or taken for granted? What brims over at the top surface, constantly demanding our attention? It actually takes more energy for us to maintain our clutter than to take that “extra time” out in order to clean up and organize our interior and exterior space.

The Sabian symbol for this New Moon Eclipse is:

“Wisps of Winglike Clouds Streaming Across the Sky”

When we look up to the sky we can choose to shrug and look back down, or to fear what may be chemtrails, or better yet to sense our connection with nature’s vast intelligences that communicate to us through the moving clouds as they take on various shapes. At this time we are being made aware of spiritual forces at work both within and around us, whether or not we can see them with our physical eyes. Our angels are looking out for us.

This is a 10 of Diamonds day, which signifies great blessings and possible financial reward. The Diamond suit is very much aligned with the energy of Taurus, as both represent material values, and can also help facilitate the manifestation of spirit into matter. When the 10 of Diamonds is present we are encouraged to make a wish, and release it to the Universe in total trust that its manifestation or the next best thing to that which is in alignment with us is on the way.

5- 24-13 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius

The Lunar Eclipse hits at 4 degrees of Sagittarius, putting us in the mood for adventure, exploration, and sky-diving of the mental and even physical kind. The Moon’s trine to Uranus heighten daring attributes as well as intuition, but as is always the case what we choose to do with our emotions, urges, and psychic impressions are up to us and entail personal responsibility.

Sagittarius is the sign related to our search for knowledge and truth. It pushes us to expand where we feel limited and to aim higher where we’ve aimed too low or settled for less. Travel of the body, mind, and spirit are favored when this sign is strong, and it may be time for many of us to journey, whether this is inward, outward or a combination of both. On the other hand Sagittarius may point to areas where we overdo or overstretch ourselves, due to Jupiter’s influence. Just as we took a look at what habits and items needed to be discarded with the Taurus solar eclipse, we may now need to further size down and simplify in some area where we have pushed ourselves too far, said, or eaten too much. So…for some this could mean a time to fast or diet.

A square to Neptune in Pisces might be the cause of confusion for some who are already prone to illusions, delusions, and feelings of inferiority. While we’ll want to be on guard in certain situations, we may desire to experiment with different possibilities. What is certain is that nothing is certain and especially now. Strange, unusual, and enigmatic encounters and physical symptoms are likely to spring up in profusion. On a brighter note, this aspect could very well indicate profound visions and experiences of a spiritual nature. Pay close attention to dreams at this time, the weeks leading up to and after this eclipse, as they may turn out to be highly symbolic of changes needing to be made, or may be prophetic.

The Moon loosely opposes Mars in Taurus and with this many will find that conflicts are no longer worth the effort, and that either it will be time to give up, make up, or walk away. Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter clustered in Gemini bring us levity and laughter in some of our exchanges, and can help to ensure that we don’t fall too far deep into any emotional slumps that may have resulted from the past lunar eclipse in Scorpio.

The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon Eclipse is:

“An Old Owl Sits Alone On the Branch of A Large Tree”

The owl has long been regarded in superstition, folklore and shamanism as a symbol of wisdom, hidden fate, and death. The owl moves silently in the night and its hooting call evokes mystery in some, fear in others. We are advised to look beyond the surface of things, situations and people now, because our deeper understanding will become useful to us on many levels.

This Full Moon falls on the day of the 8 of Clubs, which is the card associated with mental power. Eight a very power filled number, which laid out horizontally becomes the symbol for infinity. It is also very fixed, and especially the 8 of Clubs, so whatever we fix our minds upon now will hold extra force. Greater physical strength may also be available to us as well, so whatever we do we must choose wisely, so as to generate the results and success that we seek.

Scorpio Lunar Eclipse

Although I already spoke of the upcoming Full Moon Eclipse in the April Forecast, it has been such a powerful building influence all month that it seems quite relevant to say more.

Scorpio as the 8th sign deals with matters that humans have often labeled as taboo. Scorpio asks where does sex begin and the afterlife end. It often has no qualms about asking us questions we cannot even answer. It is about probing into the mysteries of our very existence.

art by Josephine Wall

Scorpio is also a deeply emotional water sign ruled by the fiery planet Mars which can be vengeful, combative, and passionate, and its “higher octave” planet Pluto, which is purgative to both the bowels and emotions, and potentially may transform us to the bone….as well as to the brain and entire psyche.

All throughout the month, especially on the New and Full Moons and on the 17th when the Sun joined Mars, the forcefulness of Mars has been strong in effect, its effects destructive and explosive, as we have seen in the Boston marathon and bombing in Afganistan. These explosive effects have been experienced by many on both personal and collective levels, while on the flipside there have been energizing and constructive opportunities available to us. Mars is the ruler of Aries, where the New Moon was highlighted this month on the 10th, as well as the original ruler of Scorpio, where the Lunar Eclipse will occur on the 25th. Saturn is Retrograde in Scorpio, in mutual reception with Pluto in Capricorn, also involved in the wild Martian-Uranian-Transneptunian “collision” that that has been occurring.

The dark edge of Scorpio’s sword uses its sharpness to cut and wound where the perceived opponent or victim is most weak. Deep hurt spurs Scorpio toward acts of utter cruelty. One of the highest possible expressions of Scorpio is that of healing, or the mending any level because with Scorpio we see deep into the heart or cause of any illness, ruptures and blockages. There can be incredible powers of rejuvenation and rebirth when and where this sign’s energy is present.

Combining this Eclipse with the Black Water Snake representing the year 2013 is bringing us face to face with whatever we choose to call our shadows or demons – the dark face of the goddess, the fear of the unknown, the fantasies and fatalities. Scorpio and the Water Snake share many of the same qualities with each other, as the snake is one of the symbols for Scorpio. Our own “shedding” of old skin might seem like an uncomfortable and ugly process but it often facilitates a much clearer state than before.

What we are working with at this time is the result of many past actions, both positive and negative, with the choice as to how to respond to their demands for attention. This is thanks in part to Saturn’s retrograde through Scorpio, causing a great deal of digging and introspection on what works and doesn’t particularly in the realm of emotions and relating to others. Adding the Moon in her fullness to the mix intensifies the subconscious aspects of this process, and the pull toward resolving things from the past.

Guilt, repressed anger, and transgressions by or toward us are up for release. Neptune may either be of help or hindrance in this area, bringing a fog of confusion and depression or otherwise compassion and higher knowing into our hearts and conscious minds.

At this time even those who don’t have a prominence of Scorpio within their birth charts may be feeling a wide range of the emotions associated with Scorpio, including abandonment, loss, rage, sorrow, and revenge. The more empowering expressions will be new levels of confidence, clarity, determination and divine union. There is no pulling the wool over a Scorpio’s eyes, unless that Scorpio person is so entrenched within their own victimized or victimizing mindset, in which case they may become underhanded, manipulative, and deceitful. The ultimate desire now is for what is real and meaningful, as the rest can “go to hell”, as far as Scorpio is concerned. Superficiality, insignificant chit chat or casual encounters won’t do.

While Scorpio relates to legacies, inheritances, and large sums of money from unusual sources, it also points us toward higher values if we are willing to move toward them. It shows us who we can and cannot trust, as it urges us toward connections and commitments that resonate within us. The energy now is extremely raw but with this is a rare and precious jewel of an opportunity for us to reach deep into our own souls for wholeness and truth.

April Forecast 2013

I think of Rosie the Riveter as a perfect example of what this month’s energies are about. The Goddess is alive and afoot, and she is ready to kick ass and take names.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:We_Can_Do_It!.jpg

This is and will continue to be both a wildly invigorating month, where much will both come to an end, and much will begin. The saying “When one door closes, another one opens” so perfectly describes the themes that we are faced with at this time. The New Moon in fiery Aries is followed by 3 upcoming Eclipses in a row…our buttons are being pushed as we are really being pushed out of our comfort zones. We are urged to deepen our awareness & act from a place of commitment to our own inner truth ~ in a word, authenticity. This is not a time to try to walk around in someone else’s oversized boots, or to use the same curse words picked up from a friend with a bad attitude and habits. There is no room for projection, blame, or scapegoating this month, so if circumstances are unpleasant we’ve got to take them into our own hands, or shift our own perceptions regarding them. It’s time to wear what fits, go where we’re inwardly guided to go, to speak and create based on what inspires us instead of what someone else wishes us conform to.

If the rules don’t make sense, people will stamp their feet like defiant children and walk the other direction, opening the forbidden door, climbing the forbidden mountain, or loving a forbidden person, in a forbidden place, in a forbidden love.

4/10/13 New Moon in Aries

This New Moon at 20 degrees of Aries highlights the symbolic liaison between the god of war and the goddess of love. It is lighting a fire where the sun doesn’t shine and pumping us up for standing our ground with renewed vigor and passion. With Mars at peak performance in it own Arian domain we are working with very assertive energies, which if we are uncomfortable with can become agitating and a trigger for our own undoing. If we know what we want and are willing to go after it, provided that we are in integrity and alignment with whatever that thing is, we are nearly guaranteed success in the weeks ahead. The marked energy here is about action, anger, lust, desire, and movement.

With Venus conjunct Mars and the New Moon the energy is particularly coming up strong for women in the way that they handle and express their inner rage, anger, sexual energy, and ambition. Many women who have suffered at the hands of an abuser or rapist are now reclaiming their power. If women have been forced into menial jobs, denied human rights,  or kept sheltered, veiled, “barefoot and pregnant” against their own wishes, they might have something to say about that this month. Their voices are now being heard. They will not back down. The fight – a fight bigger than any we have had in a long time – is ON. Case in point – right after I had already written this forecast I suddenly came across a recent (from September 2012) CNN news report that a woman in Turkey is awaiting trial after murdering a man who repeatedly raped and impregnated her. Her declaration after cutting off his head in the town square was “That is the head of one who toyed with my honour!”

The inner anima is being stirred and awakened in both men and women, very much in the fashion of Athena, the warrior goddess, or the Egyptian sun goddess Sekhmet. Wherever we have been held back, subdued, us or our loved ones otherwise trod upon, is an area where we will likely now spring into action, and assert ourselves in new ways both verbally and physically. Caution must be taken at this time, that words and actions are not used carelessly to blame or bring harm to others. Double check motivations with others that may seem on the surface like fair decisions. Lashing out at others or choosing to disregard their feelings in any given situation can quickly degenerate into dangerous games of competition, revenge, and downright cruelty – all of which will backfire immediately with this New Moon.

Venus is not cozy in the sign of Aries, and her sweetness can soon sour if she does not get to express herself adequately. She has been moving through this sign since March 21st is and will continue until the 15th, getting in our faces about what she will no longer tolerate and exactly what kind of change she wants. She will train a man how to treat her, even if it brings him to his knees. This is particularly so in cases where the feminine energy has been subdued by male dominance. Women are coming out and saying it like it is, at least to them on personal levels. Let us pray that on a more global level there is a sense of unison and empowerment in women’s natural abilities to manifest and achieve their goals and wishes.

If you’ve been wanting to start a new work-out program this year doing yoga, martial arts, or going to the gym, this moon is all in favor. There is a great deal of energy available now, although it is not stable it will help bring circulation and needed change on both interior and exterior levels.

Suggested flower essences to cope with the emotional intensity of this New Moon:

  • Aloe Vera (FES) for misuse or overuse of fiery creative forces, focuses life force energy
  • Impatiens (Bach or FES) – irritation and impatience, encourages peace & patience
  • Tiger Lily (FES) – for overly aggressive yang energy, brings balanced feminine strength

The Sabian symbol for 20-21 degrees of Aries:

“A Pugilist Enters The Ring”

The keynote of this degree and symbol relates to the release and glorification of social aggressiveness. People “get off” at watching the competition in a boxer ring, where any victory gained is only a temporary state. Whoever seems strong and almighty today might be conquered next week. This is the nature of duality. Our challenge to evolve into the conscious awareness of the interplay of weak and strong, good and bad, dark and light, yin and yang coming together as one. It is human nature to envy and seek power, but it is our divine nature that pushes us to strive for the most loving ways to utilize and embody it.

Pluto goes Retrograde in Capricorn on the 12th, moving backward toward a closure of the square it has been making with Uranus for the past couple of years. The exact aspect between these two outer planets will occur on May 20th, and will undoubtedly contribute to the great crashing waves of energy affecting life on earth. Saturn, Capricorn’s ruler is also Retrograde and has been helping us to eliminate the habits, things, and people that we have outgrown since February 19th, while also assisting us in becoming more self-sufficient and mature in certain areas.

4/25/13  Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio

This is the first of three eclipses, and although it will affect everyone differently, it will have a strong Saturnian flavor that many will find disturbing. Is the glass we hold or partake of half empty or full? Are we intoxicated, disgusted or enlivened by what’s within it? Will it leave a sweet or bitter taste in our mouth? As always, we get to choose how we perceive the “glass” and everything else. At 5 degrees of Scorpio, this Full Moon Eclipse makes a conjunction to Retrograde Saturn, and an opposition to Mars. Issues of nurturing, particularly of the emotional kind, and feelings of security in relationship are significant and may be difficult to achieve at this time. There is a lot of hypersensitivity, loneliness, paranoia, betrayal, jealousy and other painful emotions and sensations rising to the surface with alarming potency. A strong desire for home and harmony may push many to leave people and places they have long been attached to. Simply put, many will be fed up and ready to move on. The pay-off for staying in an abusive or unsatisfactory relationship or situation will no longer be worth it. Saying goodbye might not be easy, but staying would mean death at this point.

The Eclipse loosely opposes Venus, makes a trine with Ceres and Cancer, and a trine with Neptune and Chiron in Pisces. This further heightens the need for nurturing and elimination of patterns, addictions, and people that inhibit our expansion and wellbeing. What’s coming up strong is a need for many women and people in general to resolve issues with their mothers or other women. Many must heal their relationship with the mother archetype within, the Mother Earth, and the mother we may call Goddess. Whether or not a mother is physically present does not matter in this case, as we can connect with the motherly essence within.

Suggested flower essences to help cope with the emotional intensity of this Eclipse:

  • Black Cohosh – (FES) stimulates the courage to confront rather than retreat from abuse and negativity
  • Pink Monkeyflower (FES) fosters emotional openness and honesty with others
  • Pomegranate (FES) warming female creative energy, productivity, and nurturing

The Sabian symbol for the Full Moon eclipse at 5-6 degrees of Scorpio

“The Gold Rush Tears Men Away From Their Native Soil”

This symbol points at the way humans get very distracted by things that promise to be bigger and better than what they have, to make them appear younger, or to get rich quick. It speaks of the grass being greener on the other side, or possibility that by extending beyond our small minds and conceptual worlds we can touch more of the rim of the totality of existence. We can come into an awareness of divine union with the eternal beloved, reflected to us in Gaia’s soil, where all of our bodies came from and shall return.

A lunar eclipse in your house of relationships this month indicates that you may finally be cutting ties with something or someone that no longer fits into your life. This birthday, break free!

Gemini (May 21st – June 20th)

What seems to grab most of your attention this month are your relationships. During the first half of the month it will be the relationships you have to friends and community, but during the second half you may desire to settle down more with a significant other or spend time nurturing yourself at home. There is a bit of restlessness in the area of romance, and you may feel a need to explore new options. This month make sure your heart is in whatever you commit to.

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd)

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd)

There is an emphasis for you this month on business investments, loans, inheritances or other acquisitions of money. Much around the money you earn, manage or spend will likely revolve around your family. Be careful not to jump to conclusions or to fritter away your energy in worry. Perhaps you will find the most satisfaction by tuning into the earthy sensual aspect of your sign this month, which will also help you to “ground” yourself.

Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd)

It’s not time to sit down quite yet – there are far too many things going on to keep you on your toes! Financial, creative or other involvements with partners are highlighted, and this might be a month where some major commitments are made. It is highly likely that you’ll experience some significant changes and events that stay in your memory, so take charge of your internal dialogue each morning to create miracles and the life of your dreams.

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 22nd)

This is quite an intense month for you, yet filled with opportunities to set you free and expand your horizons in so many ways. Take care of any nagging health issues and prepare yourself for this active year. The early month is a time of work and focus, but mid-month it’s as though everything shifts at lightning speed. Financial benefit will come of this, as may new love. The spotlight will be on you and your talents and leadership abilities.

Sagittarius (November 23rd – December 21st)

It’s happy times ahead for you Sag, so if you’re not feeling it yet, go out there and make stuff happen! Your inner child wants to come out and play. You might be feeling especially frisky, silly, inspired, or all of the above so make the best use of this auspicious period as possible. Later this month you’re drawn back inward, so that you can heal what is unresolved before moving forward vigorously again in the weeks to come.

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th)

Home security, remodeling, buying or selling property may be areas of focus early on, or else you may find yourself concerned with your living quarters in some way and accommodating any guests. After a little bit of fuss and adjustment you’ll be out and about, and become the life of the party wherever you go! Soon you will see that what you have been working so hard on for the past couple of years has been well worth the effort.

Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th)

Your conversation skills are put to great use this month, as a flurry of letters, phone, calls, emails, texts and otherworldly messages keep you alert and engaged. It is possible that you will capture a wide audience in some way, as there will also be opportunities to speak or perform in public. You may deeply yearn to solidify some aspect of your career but must be patient and not try to force what is not yet moving. Work with what you have.

Pisces (February 19th – March 20th)

This month your focus might be placed on a joint business endeavor or investments of some kind. In money matters you will want to consult with others rather than act independently. Whether it is a business, creative project, or some other vision you have, the way that money makes it all work and come together has become clear to you, and now the resources are available for you. It is a time to delegate, and to put ideas into action.

March Forecast 2013

This March much our awareness is brought to all that remains in the recesses of the most injured parts of our hearts, minds and our karmic dustpans, as well the question as to whether we are ready to release the past.

With Mercury Retrograde in Pisces, there has been much emotional turbulence of the strange and sudden kind. Rivers of tears pouring from out of seeming nowhere, old painful memories resurfacing despite past attempts to release them, and ego blows that have stopped many of us dead in our tracks – perhaps to remind us to reconnect with our True selves.

The rune that presented itself for this month is Kano…

Kano: Openingkano

Kano functions as an opening – a gateway to other realms and states of consciousness. It also takes the meaning of Torch, Beacon, and Light, and heralds a time of vision, revelation, creative inspiration, vitality and the fires of transformation. Kano is said to leave nothing in dark corners, bringing illumination wherever it is needed most. It indicates the kindling and rekindling of passions both spiritual and sexual. Kano represents the light that helps us read or drive at night, the fire that helps us cook our food, keep ourselves warm. We are warned of the fire’s power to consume and burn us if we are reckless with this element and with our passions. We will be given the fuel to move forward, and success in projects and endeavors will show up later this month when Mercury goes Direct. Although some say that Kano corresponds with the sign of Aries which will also come into play later this month, there is also a feminine and watery nature to Kano, such as that of Pisces that encourages us to be open to exploration, new opportunities and limitless possibilities within both the physical and spiritual realms. We’re been nudged to take a look at the things, activities, and people that stir our interest, passion, and creativity and to enjoy the sacred dance of our interconnectedness with them. The healing properties of Kano include the ability to burn or cut away at blockages, or conversely to cool inflamed conditions. May Kano serve to remind us not to hide our light under a bushel, but shine brightly, and be who we are meant to be!

3/11/13 New Moon in Pisces

With seven major heavenly bodies all clustered together in Pisces, including Neptune as the ruling planet of Pisces, the sense of the ocean’s vastness and all that the ocean represents is up strong…emotions, desires, fear of the unknown, confusion, the subconscious, the Void. MerAngelThe New Moon brushes just slightly past Venus, which adds to the dreamy romantic quality of the sign, and Mars now sandwiched between Neptune and Chiron powers up the combination with fiery enthusiasm that may be dampened slightly by Retrograde Mercury in Pisces. There is strong desire…for something, someone, specific changes or manifestations, which must be tempered by the right outlook and willingness to wait for the appropriate timing in which to act. Uranus doesn’t make any hard aspects right now but its energy is sort of sitting there a bit after the New Moon like an unassuming volcano about to erupt when or where we least expect it. Waiting for the party to start with chips on the table might be a waste of precious time, because suddenly, something else will appear…an ambulance, a police car, a unicorn, or perhaps a UFO. Whatever it is, it will probably be the last thing we ever anticipated.

At the same time we are practicing our patience and laying low, we must be careful not to “drag our feet” in areas that need tending. There is not a great deal of physical vitality in general from which to draw upon now, so choosing wisely what to engage in, and how much energy to exert will be key factors in both how we are able to function  and how things function for us in the coming weeks. It is a time to prioritize – to take care of all those niggling problems that won’t fit under the rug anymore without tripping us.

The asteroid Nephele, named after a cloud nymph is in conjunction with this New Moon at 21 degress of Pisces. There may be tests of integrity and loyalty to ourselves and each other, similar to the one in the Greek myth that arise with this Moon. It will be most important to discern what our own true values are verses what we’ve been force-fed and pressured into believing and experiencing. If the feeling is one of being all dressed up and no place to go, it is probably for the reason that being still is the best place to be at this time.

Sabian symbol for the  Pisces New Moon 21-22 degrees:

“A Prophet Carrying Tablets Of The New Law Is Walking Down The Slopes Of Mount Sinai”

This Sabian symbol makes a biblical reference to Moses, after having received the 10 Commandments from God, designed for the followers of a new religious structure in devotion to God. MosesWe don’t have to be religious to notice the effects of this Full Moon’s expression. The keynote to this symbolic reference shows us the need to find or create practical outlets for the clarity that is gained during moments of profound realization. Many of us reading this may have had glimmering moments of enlightenment, but few of us can sustain the enlightened state for long periods of time in everyday circumstances.

Pisces as the final sign of the zodiac has the strongest desire to be “in the world but not of it”, and paradoxically must often find a balance midway between total immersion into the senses and the tendency to escapism from anything mundane.

Other keynotes:

  • Bringing spiritual concepts and energy into physical manifestation
  • Integrating powerful peak spiritual experiences with daily life – the sort of daily life and structure that correlates with Virgo as Pisces’ polar opposite sign.
  • The ability to implement and make practice use of spiritual ideas and concepts. Nice theories won’t crack it – the question is do they work when the going gets tough? Fancy ceremonies are fine if they address a real need and will function to serve that in some way.
  • Becoming aware of and acting upon the Inner Mandate for right conduct in any given situation.
  • Overcoming the strong desire to rebel against authority or whatever mandate is for our own good. This goes beyond morals and is more about overcoming a propensity toward self-sabotage, angry rebellion and anarchy.

March 11th is a Queen of Diamonds day so service to others is highlighted by this as well as by the plethora of Pisces energy. People may be feeling extra sensitive so be aware of words and actions toward others.

3/20/13 Spring Equinox

The Sun’s passage into Aries marks the Spring Vernal Equinox in the Northern hemisphere. This is one of Nature’s own holidays, when she celebrates fertility, creativity, sexuality, vitality, and all the color and life blooming around and within her. From a human perspective this time offers us the opportunity to balance our life in some way, renewing our relationships to both others and ourselves. Savor the last couple of days of the softness, subtlety and gentleness of Venus in Pisces, for she will tumble and roll her way into Aries the evening of the 21st, and begin asserting and helping herself to whatever she fancies in the weeks to come!

3/27/13 Full Moon in Libra

This Full Moon is at 6 degrees of Libra, in an exact opposition with Venus, and very close opposition with Uranus, and then Mars. Equality and fairness in relationships is the underlining theme in Libra, and there will be many opportunities to set the records straight in our dealings with others a week leading up to and after this Full Moon.  Libra also corresponds to the quality of listening in general, as well as acting in a fair manner for those involved. The challenge is not to lose oneself in this process. Aggression may have to be curbed while both the clarity and diplomacy in delivery will be more important than whatever methods of communication are being used. Yeah yeah…all of this is easier said than done when we’re in the heat of the moment! Most likely though, resolutions to some long-standing relationship problems and misunderstandings can be healed if we are open now. These relationships could be to spouses, friends, business partners, relatives, and even those we have considered to be our enemies.

Since the major asteroid Juno – named after the goddess Juno and wife of Jupiter, entered Aquarius early this month where it will be for the rest of this year, we will see what appears to be a growing trend of open relationships, alternative marriages, and role reversals as people try to sort out their various imbalances in these ways. Juno & JupiterThe Full Moon in Libra forms a trine to Juno, which trines also to Jupiter in Gemini – brining together a Grand Trine… which is a complete recipe for what I’d like to call Relationship Independence. At least it’s not ambivalence. It’s the latest thing, and who knows it might even become more popular than codependence. What this means is that people will take back their autonomy, and personal license to live as they choose rather than limiting themselves to just pleasing their partner. The trine between the Moon and Juno will help to ensure that this is done in kind and loving ways instead of mean and selfish. Clear communication, attentive listening, and compassion helps create win-win situations. Those who are Aquarius, or have Aquarius Moon or Rising have already likely been feeling a build-up of this energy during the year 2012 as Neptune left their sign and now they are totally breaking loose from the chains they have felt constricted by. In general if people feel stifled, possessed or unfulfilled in their relationships the urge to break vows will be strong now. This will be a going more in the months ahead, and we will also probably see a lot of gay and bisexual people come “out of the closet” so to speak, bringing them much relief at a time when it is becoming more acceptable in our society.

The Sabian symbol for Sun at 6-7 degrees of Aries, directly opposite of the Moon:

“A Man Succeeds In Expressing Himself Simultaneously In Two Realms”

This symbol highlights the dualistic nature of the human being, with all of the possibilities that this humanness implies. It may also bear relevance to the shaman’s ability to hold space with a “foot in both worlds” communicating with both the living and the dead, moving energy in the spirit realm that creates an impact of healing in the physical world. There has been a theme all month of grounding spiritual energies and ideas into physical manifestation, and this Full Moon helps tie the energy together, offering us a vantage point of cohesiveness regarding our multidimensional selves and abilities.

The Sabian symbol for the Full Moon at 6-7 deg Libra:

“A Woman Feeding Chickens And Protecting Them From The Hawks”

What is being expressed through this Full Moon symbol is the need to become consciously aware of and face the antagonism both outside and within ourselves, as we seek to enlighten ourselves and grow spiritually. There are many pitfalls, temptations, and obstacles that we each face in our evolutionary journeys. There are times when our minds and emotions are made fragile by circumstances beyond our control and we must surrender to the guidance of some higher, wiser part of ourselves who knows the way and will steer us clear of danger. Our mind is like the wandering helpless chickens (especially when we run around like chickens with their heads cut off!), the hawks our prey – the powerful influences both within and without us, and the woman feeding and protecting the chickens is a reflection our intelligent and loving Higher Self.

March 27th is a 9 of Clubs 9ofclubsday, so we each have the opportunity to shift our narrow focus from our own personal concerns and disappointments to the larger scheme of things, and our interconnectedness in that. Negative thought forms are showing up in order to be released. If things don’t seem fair, stand up and make some necessary changes that most likely begin with the self.

Wishing all a joyful and abundant Spring season!

Falling Into Place

Go with the flow…

Mercury goes Retrograde on the 23rd in the watery sign of Pisces, until March 18th. This is a time to go with the flow rather than against it, that is, if we are interested in the best possible results of our energies and efforts. Moods and memories are heightened, while the call of the mysteries and the wild draw us away from ordinary concerns and more toward what gives meaning to life.

So much becomes easier during Mercury Retrograde cycles (and many other times for that matter) when we simply ask and look for ways to things to fall easily into place, and when we allow ourselves to be in the right place at the right time. When too much gets overwhelming, jumbled, or confused stop to see if the solution is right beneath your nose. Maybe you’re trying too hard. If tasks are too difficult to accomplish, it might mean that patience is called for, or simply that it is time to place attention elsewhere for the time being. When obstacles continually appear in some area, our enthusiasm might be dampened and so what is called for before pressing onward or giving up is to pause to look deeper within for guidance about the situation. This could be the perfect opportunity to complete old projects, clean out old cupboards, or follow through on things you didn’t have time to do before.

On February 18th the Sun will enter Pisces, and Saturn will go Retrograde in Scorpio until the New Moon in Cancer on July 8th. This is a month people are hungering for answers and truth, although there is still much shrouded in secrecy as a whole and we are not yet being given all that we seek, not on the surface anyway. We’re diving deep into the waters of our subconscious minds. Mystical and magical pursuits are on the Piscean menu, or for some a getaway of some sort, as there is a growing desire for romance and escape from routines.

The recent meteor to streak through Russia on the 15th heralds a rise of consciousness that indicates changes needing to be made in both our inner and outer lives than can no longer be ignored. Ironically the asteroid DA14, as predicted, was observed to just miss the Earth at a safe distance (we were warned indirectly, yet consoled simultaneously), while the unexpected meteor shot down with frightening speed at almost the same time. Uranus – the great awakener was conjunct the ascendant of the Chelyabinsk region on Friday morning, making a near exact sextile with expansive Jupiter in the 2nd house. A cluster of several planets in Pisces in the12th house adds to the mystery of the fiery meteor that was said not to even fall directly, yet managed to injure over a thousand people. Supposedly this is why actual pieces of it have not been found or reported. Something about this whole situation is so surreal that many of us may wonder how real it was, as though there is more to this story than meets the eye.

As humans we tend to think of our own mishaps and troubles as personal matters, erupting and bubbling within our own little worlds. In our self-absorption, we often don’t notice the correlations between our  suffering and that of our neighbors, mothers, and those in faraway lands. We don’t usually link our changing moods and levels of energy and awareness with shooting stars, polar shifts, and ocean tides. Unless we regularly pay attention to our surroundings, and utilize the tools and information provided by quantum physics, transpersonal psychology, astrology, and even science we tend to forget how interconnected we are with each and the Universe we live in. Contrary to popular spiritual beliefs, the deeper we delve into science, the closer we often come to spirituality, for we see how subjective everything is to us…and how the “Butterfly Effect” is a great analogy for the way not only movements but thoughts and feelings travel through space.

And so the month continues on in a dreamlike fashion, with two planets going Retrograde in water signs. It’s as though many people still on the Earth are floating in a sort of limbo, wondering…where am I, who am I, how did I get here?

2-25-13 Full Moon 7 degrees of Virgo

The Full Moon in Virgo is opposed by Neptune and Chiron in Pisces, causing a psychic shower of emotions, impressions, and strange frequencies to invade any areas of humdrum in our lives. The Moon’s trine to Pluto both heightens our issues and enhances our ability to cope with what’s coming up. Retrograde Mercury and Mars are conjoined in Pisces, so thinking is quickened, yet on an inner plane that is very reflective rather than forward moving. The need or desire to make amends, repairs, or do something about the things we are remembering or sensing will be strong. It is a time to make right whatever we perceive we have done wrong, to take care of whatever we realize we have neglected, or even perhaps to rescue someone that comes to us for help. This may especially be true of our health, our work, and the needs of pets or other small animals in our vicinity. Jupiter in Gemini squares the Full Moon, and may either seem like a highly agitating influence or a helpful one, depending on what inner voice we are listening to at the moment. It would behoove us to be careful of our dietary intake now, because the Jupiter squares cause many to overindulge, or to experience difficulties in digestion and elimination. This would be exacerbated by the Virgo moon itself.

The Full Moon energy is further powered by the King of Clubs energy of this day, backed by its planetary ruler the 6 of Spades. Intuition is sharp and should be acted upon without delay, and the ability to clear heavy debts is also strong now, due to both the Piscean and the 6 of Spades influences.

The next day Mercury and Mars will be joined in Pisces for the second time this month, doubling the influential nature of this potent combination. Awareness of desires, needs, and the ability to “call” them forth is strong, yet we must remember not to tread on anyone’s toes in the process. Mercury, in its detriment in Pisces could be causing us to get mixed messages and misinterpretations about others’ words and meanings. With Mars in the deep watery realm of Pisces many people want to charge ahead with their sexual passions and interests, but this might not be a conductive time to do so. It would be best to cool off a bit and wait for a more clear-minded and auspicious time, when there is more of a sense that it’s the right person, place, and conditions to move forward.

Wherever Virgo is and whatever planets we may have near 7 degrees of Virgo in our charts is an area that will be addressed in terms of what we need to improve, purify or clarify in no uncertain terms. Meditation techniques can be especially helpful at a time like this, when trying to pound things into place might only lead to more frustration. Just let go, and let things fall into place!

Venus in Pisces

Just a few hours after the Full Moon, Venus enters Pisces, where this planet is “exalted”. It will transit this sign for a few weeks, shifting our values from the material to the subtle realms. On the 28th Venus forms a conjunction with Pisces’ ruler Neptune, heightening and mystifying the senses, growing our capacity for compassion. The Moon is Void-of-Course in Libra that entire day and night, which in many ways increases and reflects the confounding and superfluous energies of Neptune. Both Neptune and Libra’s ruler Venus are lovers of beauty and romance, and both stir the creative imagination. Getting caught up in smoke and mirrors or experiencing sweet salvation that day would depend on the nature of one’s previous thoughts, plans, and motivations.

During the next couple of weeks, it would make both couples and individuals feel happier to think in terms of what can make others happy than to satisfy primal or self-centered urges. A potential challenge will lie in the areas where we feel victimized or taken advantage of by others in some way. This is where responsibility must be taken for both actions and emotions, because we are the ones in charge of taking our personal power back when and where it has been lost. Our personal power is never handed to us on a golden platter by someone else.

This is a time when people may feel more delicate, both physically and emotionally, because the watery nature of the transits diminish many of the normally established boundaries that we have. Remembering to be kind and gentle with ourselves and each other helps to overcome feelings of inadequacy or humiliation that sometimes spring from the Piscean desire to clear the karmic slate.

Venus in Pisces, due to its refined nature can greatly enhance our sensitivity to beauty in all forms, so this is a wonderful opportunity to dive into doing what brings us inspiration and makes our hearts sing.

December Forecast 2012

Welcome to the End of the World as we know it! If you are reading this, you might want to pinch yourself to make sure you’re not just dreaming, and are still awake, alive and kicking! The Long awaited Winter Solstice of 2012 is finally upon us. I find it interesting that there are three different significant dates aside from the lunations this month, which all numerologically add up to the same number which is eleven. The number eleven has come to represent spiritual purity and powerful new beginnings:

12-3-12  On this day there is a very rare planetary alignment with the Giza pyramids, said to happen only once in every 2, 737 years. These three planets lining up are Mercury, Venus, and Saturn. In addition, the Earth and Jupiter are aligned in an opposition with the Sun. What this all means is very much up for debate!

12-12-12 In addition to 12-12 being one of the “power number” combinations, this is the date that some say marks the end of the Mayan calendar, bringing with it a new cycle of evolution for the earth, all sentient beings, and the Cosmos. There are 12 months in our own calendar, and 12 is a number that rounds to three, which represents the Holy Trinity in many traditions. There are many references to this number in the Bible as well.

12-21-12 This is the date of the Winter Solstice – the long-awaited End of something significant that we’ve identified with as humans living upon the earth. This is perhaps the actual ending of the Mayan calendar, completing a major cycle of almost 52,000 years! In the Destiny card system this is a 10 of Hearts day, indicating social success which may be achieved through a shared vision of what brings real joy. This may come through the performing arts, music, groups of children, or fun with family. The Sun enters Capricorn, and like squirrels we will probably find ourselves packing and preparing for the months ahead.

What does 12-21-12 mean to you? I’m looking at it as a

day. The next question is what does this card mean to you or remind you of when you look at it? This is not a quiz, but just another way to say that there are so many ways to look at things. Would you rather have an end-of-the-world or a 10 of Hearts day? Even if the world ends, wouldn’t you want to end it on the right note with friends, family and community?

Although the world isn’t literally ending or falling apart quite yet, it might “feel” like it with all the intense planetary alignments taking place this month. Relative to the rare alignment on December 3rd, the earth is still in the shadow of Mercury’s recent Rx in Scorpio, now stationing back into direct motion and the lunar eclipse left us with a lot of questions and puzzle pieces to fit back together. Jupiter is also Rx in Gemini, which is ruled by Mercury, which has also been scattering thoughts and communications lately.

Venus in Scorpio is in its detriment, where the feminine nature symbolized by Venus can become overly forceful, lustful vs loving, possessive, or suspicious. Emotional turmoil can be exacerbated and in some cases cause extreme physical sensations of discomfort. Sine Venus and Scorpio both relate to the generative organs, these may be the targeted areas.

Saturn in Scorpio was fairly close to Venus during the eclipse in Gemini on November 28th and is still showing us big time where we need to look honestly at the taboo areas of life that are placed in a category together that includes sex, death, transformation, and truth. Whatever makes us most uncomfortable can also be a catalyst for a great deal of growth. As the saying goes “whatever doesn’t kill us …makes us stronger”. Sometimes this is true.

One of the helpful things we have going now is Mars in Capricorn where this planet is exalted. Mars was conjunct Pluto during the eclipse on the 28th. The ability to focus and work hard toward any goal is heightened with Mars in this sign. There may be a challenge in taming the goals of the ego and focusing on goals for the greater good, but there is a possibility for great progress, for each of us. Mars is a go-get it planet, and Capricorn is an earth sign where desires, dreams, and visions can become real and tangible when we are willing to work for them.

Waves of Prosperity

Although it has been challenging in many respects, I have personally been enjoying many aspects of the sweeping changes and tides of transformation lately. Things are no longer stuck but moving, expanding, shifting, and displaying their bright colors on the earth and in the air. Gifts are pouring in from many directions, in many forms.

Despite the collapse in the economy, my personal hardships and the fact that I don’t always get what I want, I am occasionally struck with a sense of complete and utter gratitude at the richness of my life. Sometimes, if I’m super conscious this sense of complete gratitude can be stretched into hours or even days and weeks. Then, this gratitude gradually becomes less and less dependant on outer circumstances, even though circumstances in this state generally tend to improve.

While riding the waves of change with gratitude I realized this to be a key step or swim toward riding the waves of prosperity. Recently this change inspired me to bring forth a new set of gem elixirs, one of which I find to symbolize well what we are capable of magnetizing this very special winter season:

Green Ganesh

Green Ganesh 11-25-12

This gem essence was prepared with a genuine Emerald from Afganistan that was carved in Bali, in the likeness of Ganesh.  It carries with it a vibration of expectant gratitude and may help facilitate the release of emotional blocks around prosperity, and lead to transformations that support livelihood and abundance. It seems to also resonate with the inner ripening of past efforts or those that are close to completion, leading to harvest time. It will also soon be available in the form of a mist blended with essential oils, so if interested, stay tuned!

Ganesha, the deity known in Hinduism as the Remover of Obstacles has been associated  with the planet Jupiter, because they share a gregarious and expansive nature. Since the Sun and Jupiter are currently aligned, this essence has decided to make itself known. Jupiter is also the ruler of Sagittarius, which is the sign the Sun is now transiting.

12-13-12 New Moon in Sagittarius

The New Moon occurs at 21 degrees of Sagittarius, right as Uranus goes Direct in Aries. From fidgety to fired-up, people will run the gamut of wild feelings and sensations on this day. Things are bound to be particularly spicy, although not necessarily comfy, with three very interesting asteroids in conjunction with the New Moon. Juno, the asteroid goddess associated with the commitment or devotional aspect of relationship is 27 degrees close behind the Moon, while Aphrodite, goddess of love and the asteroid Desiderata (meaning “desired things” in Latin, as well as the name of a famous poem about happiness) are both in exact degree conjunction to the New Moon.

As much as we want to settle down and get serious about something or most likely someone special in our life, there might be curve balls from the Universe, mostly to offer us an expanded view on what we thought we knew enough about, or to simply make us laugh. This is not to say that we shouldn’t trust our intuition, or to celebrate a good thing we have going in any respect, but to underline that the way things are moving right now are basically erratic and their outcomes are impossible to predict. One of best qualities we can glean from this combination of energies is an appreciation for higher teachings that we can either share perhaps with a partner, or with a great circle of eager and like-minded participants. If desired we can also use what’s coming in order to connect with our Divine Beloved – past, present, or future. The energy wants to move outward, to expand, and to reach others, and yet it can also be directed or focused within as a mental discipline that can lead to illumination.

12-28-12 Full Moon in Cancer

The Full Moon falls at 7 degrees of Cancer, in a close opposition with Pluto…and if we’re still here (I love joking around about this), we’ll find that that we may not recognize ourselves or our situations from what they were even one month ago. The trine to Saturn in Scorpio helps us navigate the seas of stormy emotions while the Grand Trine to Chiron in Pisces shows us, if we are willing to look without rose colored glasses or well-designed crutches, how or by what means we can actually heal and renew ourselves. Due to the difficulties or emotional turmoil that is rising to the surface of collective consciousness, the temptation will be for many to slip back into old patterns, but they will quickly find discomfort in what once was. If the glove fits, but has spikes in it, it won’t be practical enough to wear. In terms of relationships people may attempt to grasp or hold onto connections that have already or are in the process of crumbling. In the old world that we are leaving behind, the sense of losing oneself through another has been such a painful and convincing illusion that it often took great upheaval for us to shift in focus. Now we are coming to terms with what has dissolved, and what we still have and are. In coming into awareness of autonomy and sovereignty, we are realizing how immense is our responsibility.

The seeming limbo in which many find themselves in now is but a brief pause offering us the opportunity to take inventory on what we’ve been accumulating, releasing, and experiencing as individuals and as a whole. It is a time to ask ourselves “What matters?” and to ponder the question itself, as well as the meaning.

May all reading this experience a warm and heart-centered holiday season!

November Forecast 2012

Why do we really have holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas during such a generally physically challenging and emotionally charged time of year? All pagan rituals aside,  it is because we need to “lighten up”. As spiritual beings having a physical experience in an often harsh world and a rather seductive wheel of delusional existence, we need reasons to celebrate, and things to look forward to in life. If we didn’t, things would be scary, and there would likely be more Scrooges than we could count. All the fuss and commercialism aside, celebrations help us to keep our faith high and our expectations positive.

by Josephine Wall

The devastation that has occurred from Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast can partially be explained astrologically in connection with the Pluto-Uranus square that has been so prominent this year. As with all major catastrophes and natural disasters on the Earth, we discover how interconnected we are even to those who live across the nation, or across the world. It is this truth that the Uranus Pluto will continue to highlight and uncover in the months to come. Like the “Butterfly effect” we are also finding that what we think, feel, and do indeed affects even those who seem far away from us.

As I write this, Mercury is stationing to go Retrograde, which will occur right as many will be casting their votes. The last time Mercury went Retrograde on Election day was in the year 2000, Bush vs Gore. It took 35 days before news that the “loser had won” reached the population.

This seemingly “untimely” Retrogradation combined with two eclipses this month, is giving us every reason not to relax, but a very real need to overcome the widespread and insidious habit of falling asleep in the midst of our pain, rage, and confusion. Neptune stations Direct on the 11th, giving us the sense of just waking up from a very long and strange dream. Like the unpleasant realization that one has wet their bed,  it will be startling for many to see what has happened while they weren’t paying attention, and to rise up and clean up in some way.

Since Mercury is traveling through Sagittarius the initial theme of reflection will be around higher learning, how we expand & contract and the reasons why, with the hypocrisy, fanaticism and chauvinism as potential social discomforts and pitfalls to be met and overcome. Travel itself of both the physical and spiritual kinds are also highlighted in this sign. As Mercury retraces its course back into Scorpio we may be re-connected with spiritual teachers and guides, or delve into the deep Underworld that is described in shamanism.

11-13-12  New Moon Solar Eclipse & Diwali

This Solar Eclipse in Scorpio falls at 21 degrees, on the holiday Diwali, aka Festival of Lights that is celebrated in India, and marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. I find this to be very synchronistic, since Diwali celebrates the victory of Good over Evil, or Light over Darkness…it is often the battle between these two that Scorpio must fight from within. During this time people often clear away the clutter from their homes and lives, finding a special kind of inspiration in this process. They wear bright colors and new clothes. Deities associated with wealth, prosperity, and good health are worshipped and petitioned during this festival which lasts for 5 days.

It is interesting that Neptune’s going direct has been in alignment with another Eclipse, because it has been Retrograde since the Lunar Eclipse of June 4th. Many of our dreams, hunches, and intuitions may have been greatly heightened during the past few days, and as though a veil has just been lifted we will begin to see things more accurately in the days and weeks to come. The deep powerful & cleansing effects of water, both metaphorically & physically may help us to make way for the positive change we are calling into our lives now. As a soak in a hot tub, sweat lodge, or sauna can help us release toxins, the rain, tears, rivers…as well as cascades of joy and gratitude facilitate movement and growth where we need it most.

Solar Eclipses are about new beginnings, but with Mercury Retrograde and the erratic energy of the eclipse itself, the beginnings are likely to be those that choose us, rather than vice versa. Furthermore, they are not true “beginnings” in that the seeds we have previously planted may finally begin to blossom or bear fruit. It may be that we can re-start what we already started but weren’t able to bring to fruition before. In Scorpio the eclipse will also likely be bringing up a lot of old buried stories, hurts, and truths to be reconciled and released, but along with these, a psychic healing balm that helps us to face and mend them with a new maturity and understanding. Mercury squares Neptune before re-entering Scorpio, so it would be wise to double-check contracts, letters, emails, voice mails, and texts before pressing onward – it can be too easy to misinterpret things at this time if we are hasty.

The Eclipse forms a trine to the asteroid goddess Pallas Athene in Pisces, indicating that our visions, intentions, and healing abilities are aligned. This week we have great opportunities for healing on all levels. The Eclipse is in conjunction with the asteroid “America”, which may help our country to do some deep cleansing and healing too, particularly with regard to our projections. We’ve witnessed a lot of drama and power trips these past few weeks, and the Scorpionic energy is bringing to the fore whatever lies were hidden from our general view to be reckoned with.

This eclipse will be mostly visible from places where people won’t see it, including areas of Australasia, Polynesia, the South Pacific Ocean, parts of Antarctica and the southern half of South America.

11/28/12 Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Gemini

The Lunar Eclipse hits 6 degrees of Gemini, between the 27th and 28th, just a day after Gemini’s ruling planet Mercury goes Direct (the afternoon of the 26th). Gemini gets us in touch with our neighbors, relatives and close friends. The Gemini lunar eclipse may show us if, where, and how our attention is divided and imbalanced, if it is going “all over the place”, or if we are stable, loyal, and are able to juggle with ease. The air will be fizzy and filled with many funny ideas, while simultaneously offering methods of enlightenment and liberation to those who thirst for it.  The tension between Gemini and Sagittarius is often reflected in a battle a bit different than the battle that Scorpio faces …it is the battle between reason and intuition. There is however a place where science and spirit can indeed meet each other without the threat of crossing the other out. Although eclipses are known to be disruptive, taking certain things away from us, we may be gaining more important aspects of ourselves that we had lost before.

The moon’s square with Chiron may be challenging in the areas that we are still stuck in our patterns, feeling trapped and unable to budge. It will be highlighting the mistakes that we seem to make over and over again, not getting the lesson and therefore repeating it like a broken record until a sort of madness erupts – something like what my Tibetan Buddhist lama calls “holy anxiety”. The Bach flower essence Chestnut Bud suddenly springs to mind…but those affected here will each have their own unique reasons for repeating something. Perhaps if we are brave enough to look within for what is really nagging, desperately trying to gain our attention, we will finally break the chains of pain and karma that prevent us from experiencing our divine natures. The Eclipse is in sextile with Uranus, which supports moving forward with spontaneity.
November Horoscopes as seen in Sonoma county’s…

Aries (March 21st - April 20th)

You may be yearning for a deeper connection in your love relationships this month, and this pushes you to make changes in the way that you feel you need to make with a partner, whether that means becoming more intimate somehow or parting ways because you need to be true to yourself. You may want to escape from the noise and excitement around you, just to hear yourself think. Jotting down your thoughts in a journal may help.

Taurus (April 21st – May 20th)

If you weren’t able to decide between 2 or more options in how to proceed in a complex relational situation last month, you may be strongly moved within to do so this November. What was obscured is now becoming quite clear. You can more easily fit together the pieces of the long-standing gigantic puzzle you’ve worked at for several months, and can almost finish it by the month’s end. Believe in yourself, and envision success!

Gemini (May 21st – June 20th)

You’ve been building a new kind of confidence lately that’s given you the energy and enthusiasm to assert yourself in ways you vaguely imagined before. If you can wisely direct your new assertiveness, look before you leap, and don’t let your wild whims and emotions get the best of you this can be a very fun and possibly romance filled month. Watch for synchronicities related to your work and profession to pop up and light your way.

Cancer (June 21st – July 22nd)

So you thought last month things were “all over the place”!? Now you’re warmed up for what November has in store….but don’t worry, you will very likely succeed in solving a major problem while juggling fireballs and chewing gum at the same time. Ok, maybe not doing that exactly – but something similar to this. How cool would it be to experience a chiropractic adjustment while dancing, or a great epiphany while laughing hysterically?

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd)

This month you may to want to mingle, spending time with old friends and making new ones. You’ll want to explore new and old neighborhoods, sight-seeing and uncovering treasures hidden beneath autumn leaves, stones, and abandoned walls. Your artistic side is flourishing, and you can easily draw those with whom you can share the joy of spontaneous creativity. Invest your energy, rather than investing your money in things.

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd)

There is serious business to attend the first half of the month, and then later you can let your hair down for a change of pace. One of the best ways to be able to enjoy your holiday season is to avoid doing premature Christmas-shopping – wait until you have organized your finances and have put aside an adequate amount that you can spend. Work but don’t strain. Let things come to you rather than pushing hard to make them happen.

Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd)

The first half of November highlights your social life, drawing many people and unique opportunities to you. Your receptive mood makes it easier for people to approach you, as well as for your own personal riddles to be solved without the interference of the monkey mind. Expect the unexpected when it comes to finances, as well as relationships. What works and what doesn’t may cause you to reevaluate your belief system in a very big way.

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 22nd)

What happens next for you won’t be announced publicly, but will eventually and mysteriously weave its way into the fabric of your relationships with others later this month. You may be working on a special project, dreaming of a long-lost love, or forced with withhold top-secret information when you wish you had someone to divulge your secret in. There’s a romance to your loneliness…and a true story that will become a novel.

Sagittarius (November 23rd – December 21st)

Early this month you are continuing a great round of adventures and perhaps taking someone special along with you. A great transformation has occurred in your life these past few weeks, so you may wish to take the time later this month to more fully integrate your new changes. Slowing down in order to switch roles might be necessary, as many will look to you for answers, and you will want to deliver them as clearly as possible.

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th

This month the probable success you achieve will be by the help of friends and loved ones. In some way, you may share popularity with your significant other or with regards to some special activity that involves many other people, as you join forces. Later this month you may be faced with the need to make a final decision about a relationship, but you are now ready to move forward in situations that you previously felt daunted by.

Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th)

Life amazes you sometimes, and that’s what you love about it. There are many helpings of amazement this November, and while certain things might be amazingly ridiculous this month, you’ll probably dust yourself off and laugh after they happen. You’re able to gain or maintain a professional position of leadership that allows you to share both your creative and business talents. There is much work to be done, but you’ll have the energy.

Pisces (February 19th – March 20th)

This month you may discover that you have either outgrown something significant in your life or that it has simply served its purpose and now must be released. At first this may seem sad, but you will find that your new freedom from that relationship, object, situation, or idea will bless your body, mind, and bank account. If you are sacrificing or taking care of a partner in some way, read the funnies, rest, and take care of yourself too.

October Forecast 2012

It’s that time of year when the veils between the worlds are thinnest, and we are confronted with the necessity of letting go of certain attachments that we have, even if that is attachment to the thread by which we hang on to our treasured sense of sanity. Sometimes, as the song by Seal goes…we’re “never gonna survive, unless we are a little crazy”.

Saturn in Scorpio

As of October 5th Saturn is finally exiting the sign of Libra after what was considered by many Libra folk (myself included) to be somewhat of a grueling past 3 year experience. But you don’t have to be a Libra to have experienced difficult endings, divorces, or disagreements during this time, or to appreciate how imminent Saturn’s current pivotal shift is from one sign to the next…

Let’s see, what did we learn from Saturn in Libra, where it is supposedly “exalted”…? Did we collectively and personally live up to the standards of excellence so attributed to disciplined Saturn in the air sign of relationships? We heard a lot of arguments about gay marriage, and saw a lot of reality TV shows highlighting peoples’ dysfunctional relationships overall. A lot people got into some strange snafus with business partners, friends, lovers, and spouses, and realized that something was severely out of balance. Certain other things may have gone from kinky or bizarre to full-on deranged and so far gone that hopefully the past was laid to rest. Legal battles over child custody rights, justice for past assaults, and the urge of opposing parties to reconcile their differences were brought to our attention. Quite a few people discovered that being single was better than being tied down in situations that did not serve their best interests or wellbeing. The “old ball and chain” finally broke its hold on a large scale, and it was more hardcore and heart-breaking than the hardest hard-asses out there could bear. Unfortunately some people have continued to remain locked into unhappy marital or other committed partnerships and circumstances that just recently went from bad to worse. A minority of people actually became more solid, committed, or secure in their relationships overall, or found someone new with whom they could spend a significant amount of time.

We are all at the edge of a crucial moment now. This moment may last for only a few more days, and can be viewed as a choice point in time. The choice will be whether we are going to drag the unhappy memories and patterns with us into the future, allowing them to hinder our progress and happiness, or whether we are going to move deeper into a sense of self-autonomy and self-respect. This particular transit will not occur for another 28 years. Scorpios, Scorpio Rising or Scorpio Moon people reading this, take heart…for Saturn in your sign will take on a completely different sort of note. It will be ok and you will survive, most likely! The transit of Saturn in Scorpio is from October 5th 2012 until September 17, 2015.

Saturn through Scorpio centers around uncovering or dealing with dark secrets, deeper commitments with shared assets, and responsible sex. Saturn in Scorpio puts Saturn in mutual reception with Pluto in Capricorn, which will be a helpful influence, highlighting the positive and life-giving possibilities of Pluto’s transformative nature. If ever there was a time to purify and purge ourselves of negativity and toxins from both outer and inner environments it will be while Saturn transits Scorpio. There may be new herbal remedies or special methods to help us do that. Hopefully we will find new solutions to old problems, including epidemics and sexually transmitted diseases. It is hopeful that our banking systems will become more responsible and fair in their dealings, and we will be collectively educated about how to better manage money and grow our savings. There will be a rise in popularity of teachers and teachings in general, perhaps with scientists and spiritual leaders particularly receiving a great deal of attention through books and other media. The sign of Scorpio can be a natural spy as well as psychologist, so we will also learn some surprising things not only about ourselves but about others and the world we live in.

Jupiter Retrograde

On October the 4th Jupiter went Retrograde until the end of January of 2013. This cycle occurs every 13 months, lasting for about 4 months at a time. When Retrograde the attributes associated with Jupiter tend to cause introspection and effort rather than expressing its usual buoyancy, daring, optimism, abundance and generosity, Jupiter takes on a sort of serious or Saturnian energy. In the sign of Gemini, Jupiter strongly connects us with family, and the number and type of aspects occurring during this transit suggest that there will be karmic ties and obligations to attend, particularly with close family members and women, regardless of what our own gender is.

October Horoscopes 2012

As featured in Sonoma County’s Upbeat Times:

Aries (March 21st - April 20th)

It’s time to kick up your heels and let the good times roll! You might be thanking heavens this month for some the stellar adjustments that seem to be taking place on your behalf. Your relationships are much lighter than they’ve been, and if work has been on hold or unfulfilling for awhile, you are likely to receive new career and work opportunities that allow you to prosper. Take advantage of your current flow of cash & energy!

Taurus (April 21st – May 20th)

Unusual love encounters are likely for you during the month of October, and things are sure to be interesting in the romance department. As Saturn is entering your opposite sign for the next couple of years, this is an optimal time to make plans for your future and to decipher the status of your current relationships – what do you want? Health matters, whether your own or of those surrounding you are a subject of focus this month as well.

Gemini (May 21st – June 20th)

It’s an exciting month for you in many respects. You’re busy, out meeting new people, and making your presence known. You might possibly be challenged to see things from another point of a view, which isn’t very hard for a mutable air sign such as yourself. Conversations take many unexpected twists and turns, taking you along with them. It could be a time that you’re becoming inwardly settled and secure, amidst the whirling chaos.

Cancer (June 21st – July 22nd)

You may either be feeling a need for deeper commitment within an existing partnership, or to find someone with whom you can share a relationship that is more stable and lasting than your previous ones. Family obligations may take prominence, but you also have support and some cozy areas to operate from. People may be looking to you a lot for guidance or assistance this month, and you have exactly what it takes come to the rescue.

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd)

It looks like a lot of your attention will go toward your professional endeavors this month, and specifically how you may take charge of them in even more creative and clever ways than before. Your health could receive a boost of energy, assisting you in whatever you feel the need to accomplish. Enjoy the overall upbeat mood of the season, and although you don’t have to, try to get as much done as you can before November.

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd)

Things are going to go your way this month. You have great overall potential and financial opportunities now, so you might want to look for these and strike while the irons are hot. People are drawn to you, and it is going to be easy to highlight your finest qualities in whichever ways you choose. Maybe you decide to pick up a brush and paint or decide to help out a child or animal in need… whatever it is, it will be with creativity and grace.

Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd)

Somewhere beneath that calm, somewhat conventional exterior is some kind of wild animal waiting to break loose – a rebel ready to break taboos and wreak (happy) havoc. Whether you’ve been working very hard lately or maybe secretly going mad, you might receive a lucky ticket this month for an escapade to an exotic land far away. Will the others see you again any time soon? Hard to say…your journey is leading you into a new you.

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 22nd)

This is a great month for you to spend some time at your local library and museums, digging into the ancient past for wisdom, stories, entertainment, and perhaps evidence to confirm a deep hunch that you have about its connection to your own current life. It’s a time to dream, journal, and if you’re so inclined to seek out a spiritual guide or an elder to support your cause. Attending or leading workshops and presentations are beneficial too.

Sagittarius (November 23rd – December 21st)

I’m thinking that your month will resemble something like one of those televised explorations through the wilds of Austrailia, meeting face to face with poisonous insects, strange beasts and gnarly plants, as you shock the world with a combination of your charming mannerisms and your amazing survival skills. It may not be quite as dangerous, but it may evoke similar kinds of feelings. Just take one step at a time, and all will be well.

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th)

It could be that this month you finally receive the recognition and rewards you deserve for much of the hard work you’ve put in over the past couple of years. The load you’ve been carrying is beginning to lighten, and you can see a new horizon. It may be that you’re thinking of what you need to do, or where you need to go from here…and that is a welcome change from the sense that you didn’t have a choice before. The sky’s the limit.

Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th)

You may soon be visited by a lover from afar, or find yourself delving into the mysteries of the love, magic, and the stars. It’s the kind of month that you’ll want to get away from regular routines (if they even exist for you), and to blaze new trails on the astral plane, invisible to average human eye. Telepathic texts and long distance hugs may lead up to intimate physical encounters within very short periods of time. You’re on a roll!

Pisces (February 19th – March 20th)

This may be the month that allows you to give or receive another chance of some kind. It could revolve around a close relationship, or possibly around your career. It may be that you are seeking inspiration to help get you moving in a certain direction, and this is a great time when you are likely to find it. If you have some important plans it may be best to keep them to yourself until they are executed. The results will be swifter and stronger.

August Forecast 2012

Once in a blue moon…we find ourselves in a completely new situation, and we ask ourselves “Wow, how did I get here?”…

This August is not all about the Blue Moon but about what this moon could mean for us on a larger scale. A blue moon is the second full moon of a calendar month, occurring usually only once every two to three years. It rarely actually appears to be the color blue, and perhaps the infrequency of the blue moon itself is what inspired the saying “once in a blue moon”.

A blue moon greatly amplifies the inherent energies of the fullness of the moon and whatever sign it’s in. In some cultures such a moon is marked as a holy and auspicious occasion. Prayer, meditation, and spiritual connections are enhanced. How appropriate then that the particular blue moon coming soon will be in the sign of Pisces – that of the spiritual aspirant or avatar.

2012 – The Big Picture

We are Occupying 2012 ~ the long awaited, widely feared, profusely described year of global transformation and end of the world-as-we-know-it! Undoubtedly, this has been year of radical change for all of us, although how we each perceive the change, as well as whether or not we are enjoying this varies! What we’ve been experiencing for the past decade is a rising level of intensity in our personal and collective lives, as we’ve reached the edge of the end of a 26,000 year cycle and alignment. Who can really say exactly when this “ending” has occurred or will soon occur…at this point I truly believe we’ve long been in the process of the alignment, which has already ended and we are now still lingering in the limbo between totally different lives we’ve lived in one body, integrating the profound changes that have come about as a result.

According to the Mesoamerican long count calendar December 21, 2012 marks the completion of the great cycle we’ve been in. The tsunami in December 2004 in Indonesia and the tsunami in that hit Japan in March 2011 were both signs of the poles shifting, with lives taken on a massive level. On the Winter Solstice of December 21st 2010 we experienced a Full Moon eclipse aligned with the Galactic Center, which could have been the actual turning point that has been indicated for 2012. This wouldn’t surprise me, since our Gregorian calendar is not as accurate in keeping track of time as many of us believe – it may be up to 5 years off-base from the time period that the Mesoamerican calendar predicted.

What it all boils down to is – We’re In It! This is it! We don’t have to imagine what it will be like anymore – it’s time to do something about where we’re at. Those of us who are still alive to tell the tale of being birthed into the New Earth have endured stretching and energetic adjustments of mass proportions in order to even breathe in a realm such as the one we currently inhabit. Congratulations!

One of my most sarcastic remarks (usually made only with those who know me well enough not to take it personal) after something crazy or painstakingly difficult to achieve is “What, you want a lollipop for that?”

It’s kind of like…that’s what the Universe is saying right now. Project Next is coming right up foks, so don’t relax all of your muscles quite yet.

A Few Key Highlights ~ Reviewed and Revealed

  • We entered the year with Jupiter in earthy Taurus and Mercury direct in Sagittarius giving us a fair amount of stability on one level and an expanded view of reality on another…with Uranus in Aries egging us on… to be ready for anything.
  • Mars went Retrograde in Virgo on Chinese New Year, January 23rd, suddenly slowing many of us down right when we thought we were “catching up” with something important to us. Things didn’t pick up till mid-April when Mercury had gone Direct from its March Retrograde cycle and Mars finally Direct, but we only had a very small gap of time to “get it together” before Venus went Retrograde the following month. The ensuing eclipses in May/June kicked us from behind into a new direction, where we didn’t even have time to put on the other sock before quickly moving forward.
  • Neptune entered Pisces in February where it will be for the next 14 years, marking a period of time in which the oceans, lakes, rivers and water supply in general will become an area of great importance that cannot be ignored. It will be time to at least try to clean up the mess that we’ve made of our waters and upon which we depend for survival on Earth.
  • Jupiter entered Gemini in June, where it will be for a year and has already begun to further revolutionize modern technological and travel devices. I couldn’t keep up with what’s new in the cell phone gadget, computer and automobile markets even if I wanted to.
  • A once-in-a-lifetime transit of Venus to the Sun also occurred early June, while Venus was Retrograde in Gemini, nearly blinding on emotional levels in her suddenly unladylike manner as she ferociously pushed us to some new levels of relating to old partners, family and friends, as well as to ourselves. Oh yes, that was a barrel of laughs…
  • Saturn, who seems to be everybody’s least favorite influence, has been rounding out a three-year transit through Libra, prolonged due to some heavy-hitting retrogradations (now over), which will finally come to a close in October. This has been particularly grueling for those born in Libra, with Libra Moon or Rising, and for those in general whose relationship status has been an area of questioning, heaviness, or concern. Since Saturn tends to prolong whatever illnesses are present the sign it occupies the major issues would physically revolve around energy and stamina, much of which is derived from the kidneys (ruled by Venus/Libra). Emotionally, there has been widespread major OCD around image (Venus) and the problem or illusion of what aging (Saturn) does to it. When Saturn finally exits Libra and enters Scorpio, the focus will shift from nitpicking at the vanity mirror and balancing our relationships to doing deep healing, introspective and investigative work, and committing more fully to whatever or whomever we’ve decided to be involved with. For the medical establishment this could bring new cures and discoveries for infectious disease.

Rune for August 2012: Mannaz

So I picked a rune for the month for all of “us” including all my readers, and all believers, as I often do…and it turned out to be Mannaz – the rune which literally represents Mankind, as a whole. In its highest aspect is the rune of the Divine intelligence within humanity, on both individual and collective levels. It relates to various aspects of intelligence, such as reasoning, memory, and concentration, and to the spiritual aspirant it indicates that pure self-realization is attainable now. Whenever Mannaz shows up it’s time to look in the mirror instead of projecting outward onto others, whether for good or ill. We must take responsibility for our actions and decisions, realizing that we have personal choice and that blaming others merely perpetuates the victim mentality. It may be that whatever we seek outwardly is closer than we realize, and is to be found within ourselves. Those who meditate may be familiar with the concept of enlightened mind, with a role model such as Buddha to represent this as a possibility for all of us. It is this enlightened mind that Mannaz urges us closer toward. It and we will choose the manner that is best suited toward us at the particular time or place we happen to be. Enlightenment and empowerment are the areas of focus for us in the days and weeks ahead.

8/1/12 Full Moon in Aquarius

The Full Moon was at 10 degrees Aquarius, on the Feast of Lammas, a cross-quarter point in the year, celebrating the first harvest of the year. Here between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox, we finally caught a “breather”, and saw some light at the end of a Mercury Retrograde slide tunnel, which will be coming to an end on August 8th. In the sign of Leo, Mercury has been helping us gain a unique perspective on our children or creative endeavors, as well as romantic liaisons. The grand air trine between the Moon, Jupiter and Mars gave us some insight and some hope for the future.

8/17/12 New Moon in Leo

This New Moon is a particularly bright one, even if it won’t be visible to the eye. It may be a day and a week to celebrate, as indicated by the Sabian symbol of the moon’s position:

“After The Heavy Storm, A Rainbow”

The worst parts of the year may be behind us, and although rain and tears may come again soon, there will be a strong sense of purpose, guidance, and destiny and play in our lives. We’re reminded of our link to astral and heavenly realms, and to seek open communication with our higher selves or spiritual guides.

The New Moon’s sextile with Mars and Saturn in Libra indicate that our subconscious emotional responses, energy levels and ability to work hard as well as in cooperation are in unison. There is much to be grateful for and much to share.

8/31/12 Full Blue Moon in Pisces

The Full Moon is at 8 degrees Pisces, in conjunction with the comet Chiron and with Neptune. This deeply sensitive combination alters our bodies, minds, and emotions to such a high degree that we may not be able to distinguish between the suffering of others and our own. On the flipside, there may be no visible line between the consciousness of our bodies and our spirits, our mundane reality and the reality of Limitlessness. The very moment after I hit the dot after “limitlessness” I received a funny compliment to a poem I randomly came up with, texted, and sent to a friend a day ago. Their response was “I like that….are you on drugs?” I don’t even recall what I wrote, other than it being about an elephant flying away from the dramas of circus and human life. I was not on any drugs nor am I now, yet how pertinent was the statement to the energies of this Full Moon. We can go the route of using drugs if we so feel the need for them, either to escape the harshness of our physical conditions or to experience an expanded view – or we can rise to the occasion that is presented to us with discipline and focus our minds to perceive the truth of infinite love and abundance, and to consciously access our interconnectedness and our limitlessness. This is both the test and the gift of the nature of Pisces.

The New Moon forms a trine Mars in Scorpio and sextile to Pluto, enhancing the ability to purify, heal and merge on deep levels. This is the one of the “psychic surgery” combinations, and even more so with Chiron involved, making it an optimal time for healing work of body, mind, and spirit, which includes what in shamanic terms is called soul retrieval – to bring back and integrate fragmented aspects of the soul and psyche that have shattered due to trauma.

The small fixed star Skat hovers closely above the Blue Moon, and this is a star that is associated with wish fulfillment! When the Blue Moon fairy appears, it is best to be prepared and precise– what we wish for, especially now, is very likely what we will receive. According to Ptolemy, Skat’s influence combined with the moon brings valuable gifts, new and influencial friends, public position, and the love of “respectable women”. We’ll see what comes of it!

July Forecast 2012

Aaahhh, how did it happen that July is already here!? Time has been flying so fast or so it seems…here we are at the Full Moon in Capricorn, with fireworks  going off in more ways than one! Although I’ve barely had the time for writing these past few weeks, I couldn’t leave a blank page – and at least wanted to chime in a few key highlights for the month:

7/3/12 Full Moon 12 degrees of Capricorn

Healing of relationships to authority figures, mentors, close family members and guardian. Pluto’s contact with this Full Moon triggers intense emotional confrontations or puts a spotlight on power struggles throughout first week of July. Mars enters Libra today so there is a strong focus on reorientation within committed relationships for the next few weeks.

by Josephine Wall

7/13/12 Uranus goes Retrograde until 12/13/12

When Uranus goes Retrograde its effects are slightly similar to Mercury Retrograde (see below), although it may not be as obvious and therefore not as …annoying for some people. Wild and wacky are the words of the month, so get ready for chaotic fun, annoying blessings in disguise, and the confirmation of intuitions and hunches long held, some of them disconcerting. If we’ve ignored our gut vibes on certain things they will really haunt us now.

7/15/12 Mercury goes Retrograde until 8/8/12

We are already in the “shadow” aka “storm” of Mercury Retrograde, which refers to the building phase that occurs a couple of weeks prior to Mercury’s appearance of turning backward in motion from the perspective on Earth. Commonly experienced are miscommunications, electronic and computer glitches, automobile breakdowns and the like. Possible and positive experiences, uses and benefits are deep emotional releases, important reconnections, and renovations on almost any level. Spiritual awareness, synchronicities and dream activity can be heightened.

7/19/12 New Moon 26 degrees of Cancer

A time of mothering, recommitment to goals and/or loved ones. Great week to spend with family. Mars opposes Uranus, stirring within us a strong call to action toward something that cannot be ignored. Being on a 9 of Clubs day, along with the influence of Mercury Retrograde this New Moon indicates that this is a time when old attitudes, thought patterns, and beliefs must die in order for certain new beginnings to occur. Sometimes old habits die hard…but sometimes they’ve simply lived their course and we know it. We may be tested in knowing exactly when to let go, when to push, and when to rest in the days ahead.

A peek at my July Horoscopes for 2012:

(as seen in Sonoma county’s Upbeat Times )

Aries (March 21st - April 20th)

Are you coming or going? Are you hiding or revealing yourself? There’s no wrong or right answer – only what makes sense to you in the moment. Some things appear more threatening than they are this month, and you may find yourself in fight or flight mode. When you drop your armor in certain situations you may actually be surprised to experience a rain of abundance, love and support where you didn’t suspect them to exist.

Taurus (April 21st – May 20th)

At times it can be tricky to figure out whether one feels antsy or inspired to change something about themselves or their environment, rather than be effected by it. If normally you’d prefer to keep things as they are, staying within your comfort zone and not making any huge ripples, this month could bring a completely different aspect of your character out into the open, surprising even yourself with your spontaneously wild behavior!

Gemini (May 21st – June 20th)

Continued expansion in many areas of your life and relationships are highlights this Summer. This month the integration of all the different things that have come into life will be more important than adding new things. Take inventory, sorting out the wheat from the chaff, and remember that not all opportunities need to be acted upon in order to achieve the desired results. Save your energy and resources for the times you’ll need it most.

Cancer (June 21st – July 22nd)

Happy Birthday Cancer! With the moon as your ruling “planet” reflecting the sun’s light, you don’t always get the credit you deserve because of your work behind the scenes. This is one of those months where that reflection is so bright along with your own inner light that the world cannot help but notice the beautiful ways that you shine. Please share yourself, knowing that by being seen and admired, you help to inspire those around you.

Leo (July 23rd – August 22nd)

Communication is a major highlight for you this month! Conversations, letters, phone calls and emails seem to pour in from all directions, but the irony is that you may be challenged to do more a lot more listening than talking. Just what you do with the information you receive is matter of personal choice, but there will be at least one potentially life-transforming opportunity you will be given with a fresh new look into the past.

Virgo (August 23rd – September 22nd)

God knows you’re capable of working very hard, and although you may have had some new work opportunities this year, this will be the kind of month to organize, prioritize, or to change some aspect of your daily routines. You’ve also put in great efforts for projects in the past months that may suddenly begin to bear fruit. Miracles may pop up when and where you least expect them…serendipity at least serves as your guidepost for the future.

Libra (September 23rd – October 22nd)

Remember the feeling of being free? There was a time in your life when you didn’t have to worry about certain things that have become burdens in recent years. This month you can expect a loosening of the grip that has kept you locked into some place, idea, or situation that no longer serves you. Kick up your heels and celebrate! You deserve it. From here on out, things will begin to look and be a lot brighter than they’ve been in awhile.

Scorpio (October 23rd – November 22nd)

Many things have come to pass these past few months, and yet you have been moving forward, full steam ahead. There are many sublime moments of recognition, revelation, or your own interpretation of what is union with God this month. The confirmations you receive regarding your work and dedication to improvement fuels you, and as long as you stay focused there will be many opportunities to further advance yourself in the weeks ahead.

Sagittarius (November 23rd – December 21st)

Gifts both given and received are a highlight of your month. You may find yourself devoting a great deal your time to a specific cause, most likely shared with family and loved ones. This may entail traveling but will also involve home improvements or accentuations. Your artistic side is flourishing, and this could be the glue that helps draw you together with others who admire or share your interests. Do what you love to do!

Capricorn (December 22nd – January 19th)

The highlight for you this month is on parents and kids, and whatever role you may find yourself in, short trips and visits from family. It is likely to overall be a light and merry month for traveling and gathering, and is also an optimal time for delving into your family history for creating a family tree album. Forested areas are preferable for rejuvenating yourself, but even some quality green tea and leafy vegetables may do the trick.

Aquarius (January 20th – February 18th)

This month you may find yourself doing a lot of double-takes and reflections on all the many changes you’ve made in the past few weeks. You might even be wondering if this is the same life, and the same body you are inhabiting as before. While many ideas and proposals spark your interest for the future, it is important to review the past, picking up the pieces you left behind and discarding the ones you don’t want to drag along anymore.

Pisces (February 19th – March 20th)

You understand very well that dreams, visions, and fantasies can sometimes be just as important as vacations, or even food. The reason is that sometimes these visions and dreams can help propel us into new, more interesting or appropriate directions when we feel stuck in life. This is a month for you to dream up, imagine, and call forth the new things you would like to create. A vision board of some sort could prove very useful.

Blessings to you all!
