“The man who does not value himself cannot value anything or anyone.” – Ayn Rand, The Virtue of Selfishness: A New Concept of Egoism
A Super New Moon at 18 degrees Aries on April 7th makes clear that it’s time to cut out all of the nonsense from our lives and schedules or else be taken down by the constantly voracious Time Eaters whose need is like a bottomless pit. There have been many setbacks to our progress since November of 2016 but the winds of blessed change have arrived. With the South Node conjunct Ceres and Chiron we’ve recently been doing a lot of deep soul cleansing collectively and some have all but drowned in the emotionalism of it all. A strong Uranus influence with the New Moon in Aries helps shake off the stuckness and debris of a very tumultuous New Year, catapulting us into exciting new directions.
The New Moon square Pluto preparing to station Retrograde indicates getting serious about breaking ties with things that limit the fullness of our expression. A fire trine to Saturn in Sagittarius drives to achieve our goals with greater enthusiasm and resolve than has been present in quite some time, as new tools for success are made available. Mars is slowing down to turn Retrograde on April 17th at 8 degrees of Sagittarius and will finally catch up with Saturn on August 24th at 9 degrees Sagittarius. Between now and then things will be hardcore busy with this “get shit done” duo in a sign that won’t take “that’s impossible” for an answer. If it’s true that when there’s a will there’s a way, that way will be found in pioneering Sagittarius.
In the course of an average human’s life, many things are done out of habit or not done out of fear. Others toss their Time Eaters at us (entities of general discontent that snow-ball and leech the life-force energy out of us), and we toss ours back. Back and forth, back and forth the game goes. Then guess what – before you know it, time’s up. Game over. Not this time – because now we are going beyond average and aiming for greatness. The secret to becoming impervious to Time Easters lies in where and how we place our focus.
There’s no chance for hemming and hawing these next couple weeks; ready, set, gooo!!! Forget about what you don’t want; what do you really really want, whether for yourself or the world at large? What role will you play in achieving that? What we need to be able to do in each riveting moment is to act out of authenticity, courageousness, and just a wee bit of outrageousness.
Mercury in Taurus provides some steadiness to our plans and ideas, and we’ll have plenty of opportunities to review and upgrade our work during the Retrograde period from the 29th to May 23rd. The Sun enters Taurus on the 19th, supporting efforts and activities that can help stabilize us during the next few weeks.
The Sabian symbol for the New Moon at 18-19 degrees of Aries is:
The Magic Carpet Of Oriental Imagery
The basic meaning of this symbol is that there is no limit to what we can achieve or where we can go when we put our imaginations to optimal use. We find our own way to fly. As Dane Rudhyar explains in An Astrological Mandala,
“A way of life refusing a hectic involvement in social competition and waste-producing overproduction allows for the development of unattached and transcendent understanding. The static floor (carpet) on which a man’s feet (symbols of understanding) rest can become transformed into the means for great flights of imagination and super-physical perception”
When we imagine what we love instead of what we fear, we move closer toward the embodiment of our “God Self”, seeing solutions instead of succumbing to problems, no matter how insane the world becomes. Genuine and self-aware Presence cannot be manipulated, overtaken, or cloned. It’s up to each and every one of us step up and say No to the Time Eaters and be as much of ourselves as we can be. Nobody else will do it for us.
