End of Year Eclipse Season 2018

Sorry to have been so AWOL…this year has been really something else. And that something just keeps growing bigger every day! Perhaps you’ve noticed it too…

Eclipse season has begun! Radical change is underway. Here are the highlights:

The Solstice on June 21st brought us into a new chapter of life according to Earth cycles. It kicked off with an opposition from Venus to Mars and Mercury in opposition to Pluto. Mars has been slowing down all month to go Retrograde in Aquarius on the 26th until August 27th, which causing a few things to deepen and slow down with it as it moves back toward and into Capricorn. This is a “look before you leap” kind of Retrograde, which shows us what has wrongly been pushed and pursued, and what truly brings excitement, inspiration and purpose in life.

These in-your-face transits are further amplified by the three eclipses this summer as well as the upcoming Full Moon in Capricorn conjunct Saturn on June 27th. Since the Sun at 6 degrees of Cancer will be opposite of both the Moon and Saturn, there is a fated quality to the things happening around this time. Something of significance that has long been in the works or that will be for the long haul is becoming cemented, reinforced or solidified.

The first eclipse is a Partial Solar one at 20 degrees Cancer on July 12th, and will be the least visible of the three, mainly seen from South Australia and Antarctica. It will be in an opposition to Pluto, bringing much intensity to emotional interactions with family and loved ones, particularly regarding contracts being made or broken. Issues of trust and safety are highlights, as are issues and relationships with women and especially matriarchal figures.

The second eclipse is a Total Lunar eclipse at 4 degrees Aquarius on July 27th, visible from South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. This occurs a day after Mercury goes Retrograde in Leo so the political scene is bound to be extra volatile during this week. The Moon forms a conjunction with Mars and the South Node bringing attention to group dynamics in general versus individual ones. Questions may arise as to what causes one most feels aligned to or how ready and willing to join forces with others, and in what manner or measure.

The Partial Solar eclipse on August 11th is 18 degrees of Leo and will be the grand finale of eclipses, visible again from South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. This is the one that reveals all the junk/patterns/beliefs carried over from past lives, relationships, or situations that just don’t serve a purpose anymore other than to hold one back from expressing the fullness of oneself. Something has to go and when it goes, it will be a huge relief and allow the moving forward to become more joyful.

The effects of these eclipses will be most strongly felt between the first week of July and the last week of September, but their impact will reach much farther into the future – up to several months or even years. Interesting times! It could be that many of you do not even recognize yourself or others by Christmas this year.
