Walnut Flower Essence

With Mercury squaring Mars this weekend and Uranus preparing to enter Taurus on the 15th, I thought this info might be useful to revisit. Walnut flower essence is one of the most useful supports for the experience of tremendous change, both inner and outer. Change is what’s occurring now and will be occurring quite a bit for the rest of 2018, with Uranus ushering us into all kinds of uncanny, unique or unexpected territories.
What do I mean by change? The word has almost become cliché in some ways so let me clarify. I mean change as in ABOUT-FACE CHANGE, RADICAL SHIFT change, some RATHER SUDDEN TURN OF EVENTS that blow minds and leave people scratching their heads in wonderment kinds of change. Just saying. The fun has just begun!
Mercury is in the late degrees of Aries along with Uranus, and both are being squared by Mars in Capricorn, which will be moving into Aquarius on the 16th. And…”edgy” would be an understatement about the energy of the times.
Creative sparks are flying and this could bring just the opportunity or at least the inspiration that you’ve been waiting for to break out of some old rut or try something new.

The  vibrational essence of Walnut is evocative of the truth of several quotations that most are familiar with:

“All things Change, and We With Them”

“There is a Time and Place for Everything”

“When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going”

As Mars moves back into forward direction in Libra while Mercury slows down into Retrograde motion in Cancer, many people could use some assistance in the drastic transitioning from one state of being to another. The recent Grand Cardinal Squares have left many wondering if they are coming or going, where to, and how. This is where Walnut flower essence can serve as a gentle yet invaluable tool in coping with stressful life altering change and significant decisions to be made. Since Cancer, where Jupiter currently transits and Mercury will soon be transiting is such a reflective sign, Walnut can help us not to get so caught up in what…

Eclipse madness & massive change

Recently I have been asked where my horoscopes have gone and if I still do astrological updates. In short, a certain chapter of my work in this regard is done, as I have other work to focus on now. My astrological practice is still active and I’m still available to do readings, whether they include astrology or not. A friend just asked what my thoughts on the August 21st solar eclipse are.  So here goes:

Starting with the obvious, whether people believe in the astrological aspect or not eclipses are triggers for tremendous stress and change, both personal and global. They can be ominous or inspiring.

Will something bad happen? Yes, of course it’s already happening. I don’t care to elaborate, partly because there is enough of it to go around on the web.

You might also be noticing great shifts occurring in your physical bodies in relation to the Earth. How many of us rest and move in our bodies is changing very rapidly and radically, in part due to the changes occurring on this planet. There are influences within our planet’s sub-structures and off-planet objects influencing these changes.

The Solar Eclipse is in the late degrees of Leo. This can inspire us to bring out our best, boldest self and share our gifts with the world. It poses the question, to who or what does one give or receive authority – and what impact does this make?

(the questions below are not addressing anybody in particular)

Do you bow down? Do you demand an audience or naturally gain one through charisma? Do you give extra power to political clowns and blame everything wrong that happens in the world on them?

The polarity of Leo & Aquarius – do you ever acknowledge the sources of your inspiration, that from which you came from (stars and sky) those who have come before you, those who gave you the tools or assistance to carry on or better yourself? Some people love to credit their family, friends, lovers, teachers and benefactors where due, and others prefer to claim all credit – never acknowledging who encouraged them or gave them the ideas and means to achieve something. Conversely, most of us place blame on others hands down. Not many of us choose to take responsibility for our mistakes and how they contributed to something awful.

Leo’s opposite sign, Aquarius – in what way and to what or who do you see yourself as being connected? We are all different expressions of life but in the “big picture”, we are also connected. It’s interesting to see all of the different facets that make the whole of the human race, not to mention the animal and plant kingdoms.

In a worst-case emergency situation on planet Earth, do you think that anyone’s personal beliefs and political views would even matter? Sometimes, when things seem really out-of-control this thought helps put things in perspective. How does one actually survive and relate not only to other humans in this world to but the Earth itself? How one relates to the Earth will color and shape the rest of one’s life and relationships. Is the relationship contractive or expansive?

An eclipse brings massive change. Some resist it, others dive in. The symbolic energy of an eclipse may be likened to a combination of the Tarot cards The Hanged Man and The Tower. One is, or many are forced to surrender and can’t know exactly what will happen next. “The only thing certain is that nothing is certain”  – to quote whoever came up with this. Things are falling down, coming undone at full speed. Whether this is beneficial or harmful depends on a lot of other factors. There is some degree of choice involved, which begins with an angle of perception.

Are decisions made from fear or love? Sometimes, it can be far more potent and adventurous to be propelled by questions rather than to assume the answers.

Mercury Retro Recreation, Arts, & Crafts

Things become much more manageable and also fun when things are lumped into piles that can be addressed one at a time, although Mercury, or Murphy’s Law does not always seem to allow such organization to take place. Some of us do this automatically without question. Instinct or intuition guides us to take actions that simplify our life and increase productivity. Some of us need a little push or a nudge to become more resourceful and efficient.  A few need a disaster to shake them out of a rut. Some just don’t have a clue as to where to begin.

Here are a few suggested piles to play with:

Clear-up Pile – What kind of piles can you gather up to get rid of – as in throw away, destroy, burn, bury, delete, zap, discontinue? You can make one giant Clear-up Pile or several ones under different categories. Any junk accumulating in the kitchen, closet, or basement? Soda cans on the beach? Trash on the widewalk? Papers, papers, and more papers? Excess email? When you do this kind of thing voluntarily instead of wait for a necessity or disaster to force you into it, it can actually be enjoyable. I like to put on a favorite album and clear away to my heart’s content! When things get really deep and disconcerting, Tangerine Dream helps me get through the cinematic horrors of my clutter.

Donate Pile – It’s true that one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Sometimes the garbage we keep could benefit someone else. There is something in your life right now – out of sight, out of mind, but its space is definitely being rented in your energetic field. You don’t love it. You don’t use it. You don’t wear it. For God’s sake you don’t even look at it. Why on Earth do you hold onto it? An ugly watch that a relative gave you on Christmas? An unwanted pair of jeans with rhinestones on the back pockets? An old pot or pan way in the back corner of a cabinet that hasn’t seen light in about 7 years? Might be time to grab a cardboard box and start creating your Donate Pile.

Fix-it Pile – This pile is one of my favorites. Another name for it could be “When-I-get-to-it-Pile”. It is the pile of things that may be collected throughout the year until there is enough time to address the items contained in it. See, we don’t have to wait for a bunch of things to break down on us all at once to think in terms of adjustment. There could be a favorite barrette that broke, a blade that needs sharpening, a guitar bridge that needs repair, you get the idea. The things in this pile are not in need of urgent attention but they are useful and worth taking the time and effort to fix or get fixed. So, if you have your Fix-it pile together, take your pick get down to it.

Exchange Pile – This is another fun pile, because you have a choice in whether to donate the stuff inside to a charity or or meet up with someone that has things they are also willing to part with you might find useful. In Sonoma county, many women I know love to throw what’s called a “Clothing Exchange Party”. Women bring clothes and other odds & ends they don’t wear or use anymore and just have a field day picking and choosing from a giant pile or exchanging items in mini piles. The party atmosphere may be enhanced with snacks, music, and special beverages.

Scrap Pile – Scraps can come from fabric used in sewing, construction papers used in crafts, old crayons, cracked garden pots, wrapping paper from gifts received, random ornaments, acorns, copper wires, bones, little whatnots and thingamajigs. Instead of throwing away ribbons and other pretty accents you can save them for future arts and crafts. I mean, don’t go overboard with this and turn an entire room into a scrap pile (unless your profession is directly related to turning scraps into art). One box is sufficient. It can be whatever size box you choose. There is a great sense of satisfaction that comes with turning scraps into art.

Just as the physical body needs circulation to function properly, so does the environment that we inhabit. You might come up with your own kind of piles that work better for you. The point is to make way for creative inspiration to flow with ease.
