Saturn Direct and the Equinox

After four and a half months of Retrograde motion, Saturn turns Direct today at 14 degrees of Capricorn. Since April 29th, Saturn pushed the breaks on many different areas which made work, health, relationships and other projects extra challenging. We can all breathe a huge sigh of relief that several things are finally going to move forward again with increased energy and strength. The timing of Saturn’s stationing direct coincides with the Equinox which occurs on September 23rd. The current season is coming to an end while new beginnings are slowly surfacing.

Since the Great Taskmaster went Retrograde he has been conjunct the South Node which has placed a huge emphasis on the reworking of issues from the distant past and those dealing with government and family dynamics. These issues relate to hierarchy, foundations, career, authority, paternal figures, and the abuse of power. Some have dealt with scarcity, poverty or the loss of assets and property. Saturn’s Retrograde period also provided opportunities to release harmful habits and toxicity from our lives. That was the kind of toxicity that had been there for far too long and could have been deadly if left unchecked.

All year Saturn has been drawing into the conjunction with Pluto that is due on January 12th of 2020. The Plutonic influence is in part what has made some of the changes taking place increasingly painful and gut-wrenching for many people. Before foundations can be strengthened and secured, there are often areas that need to be demolished or purified to prepare for something that is going to be more sustainable.

Many of the world’s most widely circulated fabrications are becoming exposed for what they are. Empires built on slavery, lies and manipulation are beginning to crumble to dust. The old scare tactics used by greedy globalists are being revealed to the masses. And yet…like the hordes of hell, new fabrications have surged up to take the place of the old ones, more empires are being built. Alas, the cycle continues. Some awaken, struggle and push through the gates toward freedom, others remain in slumber. And so the legacy is passed on. Propaganda is a broken record that just keeps spinning.

Saturn has dipped into and out of the second decan of Capricorn since the beginning of the year. This area of the sign is influenced by Venus. The focus is forward again on clarifying our values, improving our skills, and giving our best to whatever we are doing with greater or more obvious payback than before. There will be much less interference overall. Saturn is not known only for being punitive but also for can also be rewarding to those who put their best foot forward and work diligently.

With the Sun in Libra, during first half of October it will enter into squares with both Saturn (October 7) and Pluto (October 14). This is a push toward getting clear with objectives and tackling some work that requires compromise and patience to accomplish.

As we get closer and closer to the Saturn and Pluto conjunction, it may be helpful to consult an expert in the field of study or area of necessity that we are being called toward. It’s time to buckle down and get serious about something that actually can’t be even be ignored or brushed to the side anymore. The house of your chart where Saturn and Pluto are transiting indicates the area of your life undergoing the most significant closures and reconstruction. This is the also the part of your life that is going to become more prominent in the years to come.

Check out the video I did a few months ago about some of what’s in store. In the last segment I offered a brief rundown of a few things to expect with Saturn/Pluto transits through the Houses.

Autumn Equinox 2016

The Autumn Equinox on September 22nd is significant and potent in several ways. This time of year always highlights a period of harvest and closure on certain levels but that which is being brought to the surface of collective consciousness now is unlike what has been experienced in many years. Part of this is because of what is still being assimilated due to the past three eclipses in a row.

Mercury will have just gone Direct (since its Retrograde motion on August 30th) at 14 degrees Virgo the night before the Equinox forming an exact trine to Pluto in Capricorn, as Pluto slows down to turn Direct on September 26th. Days ago, the building of this aspect began to greatly heighten communications and perceptions on this and subtle planes of existence.

The Sun enters Libra and forms a conjunction to Jupiter and the Super Galactic Center (2 degrees of Libra), which may generate effects involving massive reorientations within relationships through the rest of September. Jupiter entered this area right around the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on the 16th. The relationship areas undergoing reevaluation and change may involve any ranging from romance to business endeavors, legal contracts, family issues and friendships to group dynamics. There is great potential for healing and reunification, but for some there may also be an upsurge of deep pain. One of the greatest gifts offered by this transit is that of an increased ability to release baggage and sorrow around both past and present relationships and to come to a clearer understanding of multi-layered interactions.

Mars at 26 degrees Sagittarius is conjunct the Galactic Center and the asteroid Lachesis, named after the second of the 3 Fates of Greek Mythology as she who measures the thread spun on Clotho’s spindle and determines the Destiny of any given life before it is snipped at by the third Fate, Atropos. This may indicate intense encounters and experiences of a psychic or super-conscious nature that seem fated, meant-to-be, or inescapable.

Venus at 28 degrees of Libra is conjunct asteroid Eugenisis, which could shed light on some rather strange “cross-overs” of all kinds, and I mean all kinds. I think I will leave these up to the imagination along with the observation of current world events by those who are reading this. Since the square between Saturn and Neptune is separating but still in effect, we cannot jump to conclusions yet about whether these crossovers are positive or negative, and the emphasis in Libra necessitates neutrality in some ways. This is especially true in situations where disillusionment and obsession is reaching or has just reached a peak, making it difficult to see the forest for the trees.

The day begins with the Moon in Gemini is in trine to Pallas Athene in Aquarius, highlighting the strength of the Feminine being expressed through various means. The Moon then moves into a sextile with Eris (the Dark Feminine) and Uranus in Aries, which although a fleeting aspect is part of an ongoing theme involving Eris that began in June and will last until Spring of 2017. This theme includes radical social change in relation to feminine principles – their suppressions, explosions and expressions. The day comes to a close with an opposition between the Moon and Mars and the Galactic Center, which is to say, BAM baby, BAM. And totally truthfully, I wrote that before I checked and found out the Moon will literally be in conjunction with the asteroid BAM. So there you have it. Whatever BAM means to you!

Meanwhile, I am peacefully enjoying the harmonious brutality of fast and furious metallic shredding while sipping a hot cup of tea during Venus’s late degrees through Libra, as her consort Mars makes his way through the late degrees of Sagittarius. What can I say…I really love music, both classical styles and some of those considered viciously hardcore. Guess it’s a Libran thing.

Autumn Equinox 2015

We enter the Autumn season on September 23rd with the Sun in Libra joining the North Node, asteroid Juno and Black Moon Lilith, casting a subtle yet revealing light into the shadow side of relationships for healing, resolution, renewal, and in some cases release. Mercury, further along in Libra moves Retrograde while Libra’s ruling planet Venus makes her way out of a Retrograde shadow in Leo, forming a fire trine with Uranus in Aries and with asteroids Pallas Athene (goddess of art and war) and Eurynome (daughter of Oceanus, representing the sea) in Sagittarius. A warrior aspect of the divine feminine is in full effect, but not necessarily in a warring way. This week she is getting more of a kick out of expressing all her quirks, hilarity, virtuosity, daring, and creativity without holding back or offering any sort of apologies.

She is seeking to gain our undivided attention but without words. She is encouraging us to dance with life’s infinite possibilities, to look beneath the surface of things for answers and inspiration…

or as in the case of this peahen, to her own reflection…

after all, Mercury retrograde signals a time for looking within. There are many fascinating worlds within worlds, mirages within mirages, and we are made of billions of atoms, our lungs expanding and contracting as does the star system we inhabit.

Venus, the Morning Star, named after the goddess of love, beauty, and pleasure is regaining her equilibrium after a long violent storm and showing us how to do the same. Inconjunct to Chiron in Pisces, she wants us to play with the edginess we might be feeling, and not take every little uncomfortable thing so seriously. We would do well to appreciate our selves and pat ourselves on the back for coming as far as we have, surmounting obstacle after obstacle, through tears and laughter, living to tell the tales.

With the Moon void-of-course conjunct asteroid Ceres in Capricorn, the day begins with a bit of a heavy note, as people are extra sensitive to their surroundings, very much aware of any areas of lack or displacement. In the wake of the tragic loss of refugees, the aftermath of earthquakes and ferocious fires, we are faced with the sobering reality of our mortality, the fragility of our earthly shells. There is a silver lining to the dark cloud above us, but we must seek it out. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but we must be willing to walk there. Jupiter in Virgo lends a pair of helping hands in cleaning up many of the messes we’ve found ourselves in. The asteroid Ostara, named after the goddess of Spring is also conjunct the Moon and Ceres, which makes for an interesting parallel of opposites, as it is the beginning of Spring in the southern hemisphere.

Capricorn’s ruling planet, Saturn has just recently reentered Sagittarius until December 2017, and political pressure is in the air. Most of of us have been warned at an early age to be careful of mixing religion and politics into conversations, but they are also shoved in our faces incessantly, without so much as offering a brief respite from a constant barrage of what we’re supposed to think, do, and accept as slaves and as truth. Well, that boat is about to topple over.

As for the Moon again, I have long had this theory that the VOC moons each vibrate certain frequencies in a sign that are quite different than when the moon is making major aspects, and not just in a “nothing will come of this” way. There are spiritual frequencies that become more accessible to those who are receptive to them. It has come to my attention that the VOC moon in Capricorn favors contact with Pan and the faerie realm, often more readily when the moon is not VOC in this sign. It is also believed by some that the autumn equinox and season is one in which contact with the elusive unicorn is more easily made.

This would probably include contact with all sorts of elusive creatures that seem strange to us in our realm of existence. So, those of you with gentle yet weary souls, gather your creature comforts, whether visible or imagined, and remember that no matter where you are or what you’re going through:

“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should…”  – Max Ehrmann

Libra Equinox – The Power of Relationship

The New Moon on September 23rd of 2014 has a tone of potency and almost urgency about it. At just over 1 degree of Libra it forms a conjunction to the Super Galactic Center (SGC) – a voracious black hole that gravitationally organizes over thirty galaxies, our own included, as Philip Sedgwick has stated “at the cost of cannibalizing all of them”. This Autumn Equinox New Moon so close to the SGC indicates that we are being triggered toward a deeper understanding of our interrelatedness, as our relationships on Earth encompass so much more than mundane friendships and marriages, but include our extended family tree in all of life in this universe and even beyond. What does the word relationship mean to you and what sensations does it bring up? Right now we are evolving into both the question itself and the ever widening permeable answer.

There is a lot going on in the sign of Libra over the next few weeks and even months (you can tune in to my radio show on Tuesday morning the of the 23rd between 9:00 – 10:00 am PST for more info on the equinox, autumn season, and Libra/Aries polarity on KOWS radio), in addition to the Autumn Equinox with the Sun moving into this sign. Mercury has been in Libra since September first and Venus will enter on the 29th.

Libra, one of the most misunderstood signs is about relationship, and all that it entails. It indicates a duality between self and other, with emphasis on the give-and-take, the cause-and-effect, the positive and negative polarities within each relationship. In a word, we can say this sign is about Karma, particularly the growing sense of awareness or consciousness about karma and how it operates in our lives.

Ma’at, Egyptian goddess of Truth, Balance, and Justice

We have relationships to each other and also to seemingly inanimate objects that we use and abuse. We share relationships with the rocks, plants, trees, the homes we live in, with money, our neighbors, our audiences, our mail deliverers and internet servers, our perceived enemies, the planets and constellations and to this mysterious being some of us call God that we are all but extensions and reflections of.

We are shifting into the darker seasons with greater self-awareness than some of us have ever had before as well as the incentive to utilize and maximize both our latent and already manifest skills and abilities – and to do so in the spirit of cooperation. As lovely as it sounds this line of work is not for the faint of heart. We are achieving levels of success we didn’t know were possible before, that may even seem intimidating, disconcerting to our discontent. It is also exhilarating for those of us who have done the work to get where we are, and/or those willing to take up the challenge that life offers us now to create anew, driven by heart and soul. This is also the season of harvest, in which we will most certainly reap what we have sown.

Mercury has slowed down in Libra since the 14th for going Retrograde from October 4th to the 26th. Mercury enters Scorpio on September 27th, back-tracking into Libra on October 10th and completing its transit in this sign by November 8th.  Already you may have noticed quite a few miscommunications or irritating encounters with others that perhaps got under your skin or caused you to wonder “What’s in the air – did I – or did that girl get up on the wrong side of the bed or something?” Be careful about signing contracts or taking on new projects and agreements until the first week of November unless you don’t mind complications and delays. Ironically, Mercury is not necessarily at its kindest or most charming in the sign of Libra but can come across as simultaneously touchy and tough. There is also an underlying seriousness in our communications right now that thankfully can’t get too out of hand with Mars ablaze in fun-loving Sagittarius. Mars squaring Neptune during the past few days has added some colorful and bizarre additions to the mix.

With many hardships recently having passed and many blessings pouring in, we do not want to lose ourselves in either sorrow or ecstasy, anger or apathy, but to maintain a sort of non-attachment to objects and outcomes. We have gone from asking “Who am I” to now asking “Where do we go from here?” In Libra we need to keep it real and find a way to express our humanity, our truth, and our sense of justice without losing our cool. That’s all easier said than done, even though many with planets in this sign make it look like a piece of cake.

Libra is a sign that in its highest expression operates on the vibrational level of Ho’Oponopono, which is a Hawaiian practice for taking inner responsibility for whatever imbalances are both outwardly and inwardly perceived. The practice can awaken profound insights about our interconnectedness as well as lead to healing and transformation. The outer reflects the inner here quite quickly – thus indicating that the consciousness of the Law of Cause and Effect has become significantly heightened. We can either try to run and hide from that, blame others, or practice our own form of Ho’Oponopono. Here are a few relevant phrases to live by: “I’m sorry. Thank you. Please forgive me. I love you”

Pluto stations Direct after its annual six months of Retrogradation just before the New Moon occurs and approaches a square to it, and a T-square to rebellious Uranus in Aries. The collective creative impulse is greatly magnified as we seek to know and grow more fully aware of and into our purpose, as individuals and as a whole. We want to become more conscious and and on target with what kind of impact we have on those around us, as well as how we allow others to effect us.

Saturn’s continued mutual reception with Pluto and conjunction with Ceres in Scorpio during the New Moon emphasizes a need for many of us to reparent ourselves in regards to to emotional security, money, and the Mother Earth. Just as a black hole such as the SGC devours everything in sight, many of us in civilization have been born into a reality that bases its entire existence on consumerism and wastefulness of resources to the point of creating poverty on an otherwise rich and fertile planet.

The Sabian symbol for the New Moon of the 23rd is:

oneworld

“The transmutation of the fruits of the past experiences into the seed-realizations of the forever creative spirit; a repolarization of inner energies leading to a creative centralization of consciousness”

Creative centralization assists us in Manifestation, which is what we achieve more readily when we collaborate, cooperate and relate compassionately with others.

September Energies 2013

“See, the human mind is kind of like…

a pinata. When it breaks open,

there’s a lot of surprises inside. Once you get the pinata

perspective, you see that losing your mind

can be a peak experience.”

– Jane Wagner (the Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe)

Generally the influence of Virgo is stabilizing to the mind, body, finances and overall health and work rhythms. While the Sun transits here we are a bit calmer and more inclined to clean up and organize our lives. Mercury rules this feminine earth sign, getting us in touch with our physical senses, and can represent the barometer that tells us how our bodies are reacting to our thoughts. Yes, that’s the general idea…

But many have been anything but calm, stable, or organized lately. There’s no denying the chaos that has broken loose upon the earth although this loose chaos has been the case for eons. None of us really know when exactly Pandora opened the box. We just have better means of broadcasting what’s going on in the world now, through television, radio and other media. With our president’s decision to take warlike action upon Syrian government due to chemical weapons unleashed on thousands of innocent people, we are reminded yet again of our collective fragility in a physical sense when compared to forces whether natural or unnatural that are bigger than ourselves. This is another precious opportunity us to focus wholeheartedly on the truth, beauty and love that is more real than anything outside of us that we perceive through the experience of suffering.

Early this month there is a tense square between Mars and Saturn, which can potentially either be violent and destructive or strengthening in some way, depending on our awareness of how we direct our energies, and  perhaps our fate. Patience, caution, and well-directed discipline are helpful to overcome the negative energies of this interaction. Midmonth Mercury will form another grand square with Jupiter, Pluto and Uranus, which may cause a few crazy outbursts or even creative peak experiences.  All month Mars is in a trine with Uranus, bringing a lot of fiery energy and progress to actions, plans and projects. By the end of the month Venus’s trine to Jupiter in Cancer will help lighten the atmosphere.

9-5-13 New Moon in Virgo

The New Moon is 13 degrees of Virgo, providing us with a wonderful week or two for new beginnings that require purification and attention to details. Virgo is very much involved in the arts of healing, so health and recovery are themes now, as are all growing green things of the earth. The Earth Goddess Virgo inspires us not only to tidy up but to get deeper in touch with our physical senses. In this sign, with its tendencies toward analysis and introspection we are also able to understand the deeper reasons why things happen and what part we play in the happenings. There is an opposition to the comet Chiron, also known as the Wounded Healer, which indicates that this is an important time of mending our wounds or those of others close to us, and that past actions and harms are obviously exerting an influence upon the present. A trine with Pluto assures us that we will have the energy and resources to move through challenges that arise in practical ways.

The Sabian symbol for this moon between 12-14 degrees says a lot that is pertinent at this time and barely needs an interpretation:

“An Aristocratic Family Tree”

Sometimes, what we need in order to succeed or transcend our limitations is a return to our roots. We need to review what happened before us, to avoid repeating certain mistakes, as well as to take into consideration the wisdom of those with greater experience than ourselves.

9-19-13 Full Moon in Pisces

The Full Moon is 26 degrees of Pisces

Pisces is known as the sign that deals with karma, and the option we have to give service or experience suffering. It is associated with the realms of dreams, imagination, intuition and with the possibilities for wish fulfillment. During this Full Moon many of our spiritual centers are being activated, as a heightening of many faculties occurs. A very loose separating trine with Jupiter indicates that we have earned some kind of reward or rest after a time of struggles.

Venus, Saturn, and the North Node are clustered together in Scorpio, bringing a certain level of seriousness and commitment to relationships that could be more sobering rather sensual, and this may entail connecting with others whom we have been close to in prior lifetimes. Equally possible is the need or desire to work together with someone toward a specific end.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon 26-27 degrees of Pisces:

“The Harvest Moon Illumines A Clear Autumnal Sky”

This symbol further supports the idea that this is a time of reaping what we have sown earlier this year. It may not be all peachy, but likely a “mixed bag of nuts” so to speak. Surely there are some goodies and not-so-goodies in there, but we can choose to be grateful for it all. Whether the bag is as full as we had hoped or not we are closer to realizing the fruits and effects of our efforts, and therefore closer to attaining greater effects in the future.

9-22-13 Autumn Equinox

We’re told that we’re crazy – something’s wrong if we hear voices where there are supposedly none. On the other hand we are given information that is delivered by both human and digital voices designed to subdue, dominate and instill our minds with fear in such a way that we become numb. As we move into the sign of Libra on the Equinox we are really seeking the balance between listening to the inner and outer voices. The fall season tests our discernment, fairness, integrity and our ability to hear others while still being in touch with our own thoughts, intuition, needs, and desires. We need to be in touch with the authentic voices around and within us, whether they stem from our subconscious or superconscious minds. We need to remember that what we hear and what we say are the seedlings of creation, especially when said or assimilated with passion. Passion can bring people together or tear them apart – it can excite, infuriate and annihilate whole entire villages or nations.  Compassion reconnects us with the part ourselves that evolves, is inclusive rather than exclusive, and brings light to our hearts.

This Autumn season is a potent one, filled with two eclipses, Pluto Retrograde, a Mercury Retrograde in the sign of Scorpio, Jupiter and Neptune both going Retrograde, and finally ending with Venus going Retrograde on the Winter Solstice. Uranus will be the only planet going direct after being Retrograde since July 19th, and that will take place on November 13th.

Two Bach flower essences that might be helpful during this month’s transitional phase are:

  • Scleranthus – to aid in the decision making process
  • Cerato – to facilitate a deeper sense of self-reliance and trust in one’s intuition

Also, the essential oil of Lavender and/or a vibrational essence of this flower that can be obtained from FES would be helpful to counteract overstimulation from spiritual forces and changes taking place.

Be well and trust the inner voice of wisdom!
