The Full Moon in Sagittarius over the past couple of days has made a conjunction to expansive Jupiter and the Galactic Center. This is BIG energy,  while in addition there two upcoming eclipses in July already building in effects. The sign of Archer has encouraged us to set our sights higher and to take bold actions toward overall improvement and the attainment of knowledge and truth. We are being pushed out of our comfort zones and into the great wild world of endless possibilities.

As we move toward (Summer in the Northern hemisphere) Solstice, many significant completions are taking place. There are important decisions to be made but the ability to firmly make them and to move forward may seem to be on hold. This is in part due to Neptune slowing stationing to go Retrograde on the 21, the same day the Sun moves into Cancer. Mercury enters a pre-shadow phase on this day, turning Retrograde on July 7 until the 31.

With Jupiter now squaring Neptune again this year, some things are kind of nebulous and uncertain…it’s not the best time to make a definite assessment or sign a contract.

My personal affirmation as the light increases:

“I welcome the new season with open arms and a willingness to experience life with greater awareness and joy”

The Full Moon on June 20th is at the anaretic degree (29th) of Sagittarius, closely aligned with the Galactic Center. Suddenly after a period of stuckness, delays and limitations since late last year there are so many possibilities opening up and so much energy at our disposal that it can be tricky to know which way to go.

The Full Moon T-squares Chiron in Pisces which has been bringing up some very old wounds and painful memories during the past week that we may either feel overwhelmed by or finally ready to acknowledge and release. A lot of us are processing all that has radically changed for us during the past several months.

An opposition to Venus in Cancer increases desires whatever they may be and puts us in the mood for creature comforts. Here is where we may pause in the middle of our rugged voyage and reach for the nearest thing that reminds or gives us the feeling of love, security, wealth and beauty. The full moon’s sextile to Juno in Libra heightens this impulse for connection, goodness, or being able to cozy up to that someone that we are quite fond of. If a alone a blankie, cup of hot cocoa and book or favorite movie could be equally appealing. On the other hand, relationship differences could become a source of irritation, especially in situations where one (or more) feels quite out of place.

A mutable grand square involving Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune is reactivated a second time this month, this time by Mercury paired with Vesta in Gemini (initially by Venus). Whatever we have been waiting or yearning to do, express, or experience is closer within reach but we must continue to put forth effort.

A fire trine to Uranus and Ceres in Aries brings sparks of electricity to creative endeavors. We simply don’t want to hold back what we’re really thinking and feeling right now which could be really great or scary for certain people. It would be wise to take care not to go overboard.

This Full Moon is extra special of course because it occurs with the Solstice, Summer in the Northern Hemisphere. During this time our senses are significantly heightened, our souls indicating to us the progress that we are making in our embodied states. The Sun will soon move into Cancer, signaling a shift of focus from the airy realms of the mind to the watery depths of emotion, dreams, and intuition.

Today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius kicks off a series of highly charged interactions involving the mutable signs that will carry on throughout summer. It is also called the Flower Moon, because summer flowers are beginning to appear! However slow or static things may seem to be on the surface, much radical change is upon us. Feelings may seem heavy like a dark thick layer of clouds but our Soul energy, symbolized by the Sun’s rays is soon to burst through.

Mercury slowing down to turn Direct in Taurus on the 22nd could seem to be poking at areas of insecurity and doubt. As this planet of communication moves back into a trine with Pluto (May 30) focus and confidence will begin to return. Decisions may need to be made or revised in the weeks ahead regarding projects, contracts and relationships that began earlier this year and many new options will appear.

2016-05-20_06-19-00_223Venus is nearing the end of her transit through Taurus and approaching an opposition with her divine consort Mars (May 24). The intensity of this aspect could be triggering deep emotions, memories, and longings. Love relationships both new and old are on a huge learning curve, and may take some unexpected turns or travels. Venus is very active in Gemini as June begins, forming a Grand Mutable Square with Neptune, Saturn, and Jupiter. She pairs up with the Sun on June 6th, and opposes Pluto from Cancer on June 30th. These next few weeks there may exist the strong desire to express our deepest selves through some form of art – to sing, paint, dance, weave, or drum the notes of our inner knowing and depth.

This is a holy day, honored in Buddhism as the celebration of the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha Shakyamuni. Prayers and rituals are offered as much as possible throughout May and particularly during this full moon, as their effects are said to be multiplied many million times over. Today I wish everyone the peace, healing, and happiness that they most yearn for, in whatever forms or expressions will bring lasting fulfillment.

The Full Moon at 1 degree of Sagittarius on May 21st marks a period of heightened awareness and awakening on multiple levels. As this is the first of two Sagittarius full moons in a row, we are all moving into some new territory, whether physically, spiritually or both during the next few weeks. This Full Moon occurs at the very first degree of the Archer and the second occurs toward it’s end, at 29 degrees on June 20th, the day of the Summer Solstice.

A grand earth trine between Jupiter, the North Node, Pluto and Mercury, the communication planet preparing to station direct on May 22nd is assisting us in maintaining connectedness to our roots as our thoughts and concerns shift from a focus on tangible things to wild concepts, theories and intellectual exchanges. There is a strong fusion of the elements taking place that indicates drawing from many sources to refuel and inspire us. This is a time to remember and to utilize many life skills together within a short time span, to accelerate growth and bring in new opportunities.

The fiery Full Moon is conjunct Retrograde Mars, which is an incredibly hot combination. Ancient Babylonians associated Sagittarius with the soldier, and it is well known that Mars represents male energy, war, and the military among other things. I’m not sure what all of this will entail exactly but we should not be surprised to see much “firing off” during this time through both words and actions.

The first decan of Sagittarius is a very mysterious place, influenced by Scorpio and the Serpent Bearer, Ophuichus. This area is very much connected with ancient healing modalities, herbalism, and shamanism. Mars, midway through its current Retrograde motion is conjunct Yed Prior, a deep yellow star in the left hand of the serpent bearer Ophuichus. We would do well to give attention to self-healing and purification of our thoughts and habits so that they do not become toxic to us later on. Mars will retrace its path back into Scorpio on the 27th.

Sagittarius is known for being adventurous and carefree. With Mars Retrograde conjunct the Full Moon we have to work a little bit for that carefree state. Perhaps what is needed in order to move forward with greater ease is a new, more advantageous angle on things. This is what’s up.

We all have fears that limit us in life. Sometimes the fear is due to trauma, and other times for reasons we cannot quite understand. What is happening now is that we are being forced into confrontations with some of the biggest fears we have, in order to recognize the power that we ourselves lend to them – and to let go. When we realize we are the ones holding onto fear with all our grip and feeling gripped by it, we can let it go and take our power back. Years ago, the movie Fearless was a huge inspiration for me in overcoming what was at the time a severe case of agoraphobia (fear of leaving the house or being in public) that was extremely painful and difficult to deal with. This scene in particular is what got me motivated. Watch, but please do NOT try this at home:

The T-square between Saturn, Neptune, and Jupiter with the North Node has been pushing our False buttons like hell recently so that we may strive to become more conscious how of our beliefs and patterns shape our realities. This is ultimately so that we may fully heed our own inner Truth, and thus be liberated from the current model and constraints of time and space.

Enjoy…
