Neptune Stations Direct 2019 – Water Sword of Purification and Truth

Neptune went Retrograde on June 21st and is slowing down for a Direct station on November 27th at 15 degrees of Pisces. It makes a conjunction to the fixed star Achernar, also known as the Mouth of the River. This signals a surge of previously unrecognized or unvoiced emotions and truths rising to the surface of consciousness.

Neptune is the planet of dreams and the realms of imagination. Often Neptune’s influence can lead to denial, obsession, or addiction but when Retrograde it tends to reveal many things that are not pleasant to look at or hear. As it stations Direct the impact of what is understood, seen, or experienced may be amplified. As it goes forward again, so are myriad buried, stifled and confused ideas emerging from their murky depths to be aired out, voiced, reconciled, and reckoned with.

The qualities and influences of the star Achernar resemble those of Jupiter and are known to bestow great benevolence and success, as well as to heighten inspiration. Combined with Neptune however there can be difficulty in maintaining physical equilibrium. The energy coursing throughout our bodies or the environment can lead to feelings of spaciness, nausea or otherwise mean suffering from some kind of virus is possible during this time. It could be that what has been realized during Neptune’s Retrograde period has been overwhelming to assimilate and the time has come to process and take action on what was learned.

Mercury in Scorpio forms an exact trine to Jupiter, further assisting in the access of information from the subconscious mind as well as from external yet hidden sources. What comes up now may come to some as a relief. Yet for others there are a lot of icky vibes and a desire to expel toxicity from the mind, body and/or relationships with others. The truth involving communications will no longer be suppressed. It’s said that the truth hurts but it also liberates. Some of the things that people need to say to another or others may be shocking or even hurtful for the other to hear. The time has come for truth to prevail. By speaking truth with authority, a dam of stuck, nearly rotten energy is finally released. The knowledge attained over time and hardships must eventually be put into action and transformed into wisdom.

The New Moon in Sagittarius on November 26th is the launching pad for new and freer expressions of the truth. The Moon in Sagittarius squares Neptune at the moment of its direct motion on the 27th, indicating the friction between intuition and habitual responses. There could be some degree of “diving board fear” here, meaning a hesitation to truly heed the call of intuition, to make necessary changes or take the dive into something that seems so formidable and is yet simultaneously is the key to success.

With Neptune’s extra strong presence we are drawn to various forms of Neptunian outlets such as music, poetry, painting or meditation. Dreams may be extra vivid and seek to be interpreted by the dreamer, to effect powerful changes in waking life. Finally Neptune is no longer being squared by Jupiter this year. Jupiter has been conjunct the Galactic Center since mid-November, also heightening dreams, aspirations and synchronistic encounters. Both Jupiter and Neptune are now in positions to do anything but confuse and befuddle. Both are showing and telling it like it is.

This Neptune Direct is like a fierce Sword of Water penetrating into the most muddy crack of our lives to rid us of parasites, germs and a host of invisible adversaries. One by one, it is piercing through the metaphorical rivers, lakes and oceans of erroneous ideas, pseudo-spiritual bullshit and insidious psychic garbage that we have been saturated by for months, years, or even our entire lives. It is bringing clarity to the so-called Big Picture and allowing for a greater sense of appreciation for it all without getting lost in petty details. The Piscean element of compassion may also grow stronger as a result of seeing things more clearly.

This Wild Week in a Glance…

The week (November 19-25) kicks off with the moon in forceful Aries and two mutable squares in the same signs – Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius squaring Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Pisces squaring Jupiter in Sagittarius. Confusion, tension and scatteredness may lead to surprising revelations. Watch for unusual details and synchronistic encounters while everything seems to be “going on all at once”.

A building grand water trine from the Sun in Scorpio to Chiron in Pisces and the North Node in Cancer on Tuesday the 20th could bring up painful memories but also help to mend old wounds or make amends. Maybe it’s time to take a deep breath and just let go – let go of old stories, old attachments, old judgements, old expectations and old excuses that bar improvements in some area.

Mercury stationed Retrograde at 13 degrees of Sagittarius on November 16th, in a fuzzy square to Neptune that will become exact on December 24th. Neptune is currently slowing down to go Direct on November 23rd bringing clarity to some of the issues that have been so mind-boggling and confounding since June. That’s when Mercury made it’s first square to Neptune this year, before this planet of smoke and mirrors went Retrograde for a few months. Mars Retrograde in Aquarius/Capricorn from June 26th to August 27th didn’t seem to help matters. Now those things that were so difficult to accomplish or obtain are beginning to make more sense and fall into place.

The Sun enters Sagittarius on Thursday the 22nd and the Full Moon occurs that evening or depending on the time zone, the morning of the 23rd, at zero degrees of Gemini. Mercury is loosely opposite of this Full Moon, stirring up lots of energy, excitement and changeability. During this highly charged and very mentally stimulating week, many dreams, visions, thoughts, ideas, conversations and connections are springing up from the past or just randomly out of the blue. These mental sparks may inspire new solutions to old problems and the impetus to complete what has been started and left hanging for far too long.

Neptune Direct 2015

With Neptune going Direct at 7 degrees of Pisces today (11/18/15), emotions and impressions are heightened to the nth degree. Many of the dreams, visions, and spiritual states that have been experienced since June 12th of 2015 when Neptune went Retrograde are now being amplified and are under review. Neptune Retrograde these past few months has shed illumination on several important topics for us. Some became liberated from patterns of addiction, abuse, or escapism, and others have found new sources of inspiration.

In light of Neptune’s directional shift and the recent Beirut and Paris attacks, many have lost their way. People in all parts of the world are swimming in a sea of bewilderment due to recent traumas. Fight or flight is a natural response to danger and extreme stress, but there is a gigantic monster of fear, hate, and denial that simultaneously seems to be seizing people from their own bodies and minds. This monster has been formed and fed over many eons, as invisible to us as Neptune and its workings, and as hardcore as Pluto and its plunging into the heat of battle.

The current square between Neptune in Pisces and Saturn in Sagittarius into 2016 heralds massive changes taking place with regard to religious, cultural and spiritual beliefs. The intense focus between these two Jupiter-ruled signs challenges us to have compassion for those less fortunate while practicing our street smarts and expanding our education about our human rights before they’re all stolen from us. Our perceptions have been too limited and recently we’ve been able to see more of the big picture than has been possible in a long time. All across the globe we have been divided by external differences and preferences to the point that we’ve sacrificed our own authenticity in favor of the hand that appears to feed us but actually suppresses our life force energy.

Much ignorance about certain issues has been squashed during the past 5 months and an assimilation phase has just begun. Many of the stories we have told ourselves for so long and the ones we’ve been told by so many others have suddenly become obsolete. We have to leave behind much of what we thought was real, and hopefully to not settle for anything less than the truth. When there is serious doubt, we need look no further for the truth than within our own hearts. Truth can be both objective and subjective, depending on which angle one views it from. On a purely “factual” basis, truth differs from opinion in that it exists regardless of our conscious knowledge, feelings and attitudes about it. We need both kinds of truth to navigate in this world.

Circe by John Waterhouse 1891

    Circe by John Waterhouse 1891

Neptune is in conjunction to the asteroid Circe named after the goddess of sorcery and herbal potions. She turned her enemies into animals, and from this myth stems the common fairy tale depiction of witches turning their victims into toads, crows, pigs, and insects. Neptune stationing direct with this asteroid in the sign of Pisces may signal the forces of magic and sorcery are at work on a broad scale, both for positive and nefarious ends. Beware of manipulations, illusions, and negative projections from others. For true witches, wise magicians, and spiritual healers this is very potent time for transformation.

Sensitivities are extremely high so a bit of gentleness goes a long way with oneself and loved ones during the next several weeks.

Neptune Direct 2014

With Neptune going Direct in Pisces this Saturday the 15th, let’s not get cozy with fantasy, illusions, and delusions. Let’s not fall asleep in the middle of our pain, drop the ball after we’ve made commitments, or quit the race when we’re so close to the end.  Let it hurt, keep it real. Crying is fine, especially if it means staying awake instead of numbing out. Let’s not opt for the seductive Blue Pill that puts us back into a stupor as individuals. The planet of smoke and mirrors, higher love and compassion has been Retrograde for the past five months since June 10th, signaling a wake-up call and prompting to “get real” on several levels. With Neptune in Direct motion, we tend to breathe a sigh of relief and become more comfortable with our discomforts because it’s easier to find an escape. Sometimes when closely approaching a revelation or deep healing, there’s a certain kind of demon that rears its ugly head and bars the path. Don’t let Neptune Direct cause you to take that demon any more seriously than a lottery ticket that might win you a million dollars. As we dive back into the deep ocean of dreams, wishes and visions, we may indeed be met with inspiration and spiritual renewal which enables freer movement on various planes of existence. Openness, fluidity and nonattachment are qualities that Neptune represents and fosters within us when we are ready to let go of what’s unhealthy.
