Today, November 7th, the Nodal Axis moves away from the Leo and Aquarius polarity into that of Cancer and Capricorn until May 5th of 2020. Coinciding with the New Moon in Scorpio, a significant shift in focus is occurring in the collective sea of consciousness, also marked by the lunar axis forming a Grand Cardinal Square between Venus Retrograde in Libra and Uranus Retrograde which has just regressed into Aries.
These highly charged configurations combine in such a way as to raise the bar and propel us forward, despite all odds, prompting a complete overhaul of the things, relationships and dynamics that no longer function in cohesive or sensible ways. The process might hurt like hell but it’s clear that a kind of evolution must occur – the only other option may be death, actual or metaphorical.
Attention turns now to the home and its security, as well as to the soul and it’s depth. Is our home empty or in disarray? Are our souls hungry, impoverished or yearning for connection? What needs tending in the secret gardens or basements of our inner selves – the areas that no one really sees but us when we each are all alone? Perhaps it’s time to embark upon a study of the family tree or to explore ancient buildings, houses, tunnels, monuments and history itself in order to understand how things eventually got to be the way they are now.
The Nodes Explained
For those who are new to this concept, the North and South Nodes are mathematical points in the zodiac, always exactly opposite of each other. The lunar nodes or nodal axis refers to the intersection between the cycles of the Sun and Moon. The North Node is the point where the Moon crosses the ecliptic going toward the northern hemisphere, in the path of the Sun. The South Node is the point where the Moon crosses the ecliptic heading south. The Nodes spend approximately 18 months within two polar signs, usually moving backward, or Retrograde in motion, taking around 18 years to return to their same positions in the zodiac.
Seen in the natal chart, the North Node is the direction our souls call us toward as individuals, so that we may thrive on all levels and fulfill our divine missions while incarnated. The South Node indicates habits, karma and abilities that were gained in past lives or early childhood. The qualities of the South need temperance, for only when its intense urges are overcome the positive attributes of this Node may finally be integrated with those of the North Node. In a broad sense, the North Node reveals the overall unfoldment of society and life on earth in general.
With the North Node now in Cancer, the desire for building strong foundations in home, health and relationships is heightened. The tools, resources and energy for doing so shall also become more accessible to many in the year to come. There is also a focus on mothering, female issues and healing feminine dynamics. The South Node in Capricorn means that existing power structures that operate in underhanded ways will either crumble to the ground or will become even more camouflaged and deviant, making them harder to identify. Both are likely to happen. The South Node in this area means that healthy boundaries must be established and maintained but in a way that is nurturing rather than cold and authoritarian.
The North Node in Cancer Calling Us Home
The last transit of the North Node in Cancer was 2000-2002. There will be opportunities during the current transit to resolve much of what was left unresolved at that time, as well as the NN in Cancer transits that came before that such 2000-2001, 1981-1983, 1962-1964 and so on. The influence of parents, grandparents and ancestors is coming strongly to bear, so the unfinished business of those who came before us is becoming illuminated, whether we want to deal with it or not.
Some of us came into life with an acute awareness that we were very different than our parents, but somehow felt obligated to internalize or even solve their problems for them. We moved through childhood, teen years and young adulthood carrying an invisible yet extremely burdensome “ancestral weight” upon our shoulders and in our psyches that seemed to affect every facet of our lives. Some of us also came from broken homes, orphaned, victims of sexual, emotional or physical abuse or simply neglected and left to our own devices most of the time. There never seemed to be a steady place of rest, refuge, peace or safety. Life was always an uproar, even if muffled like silent screams behind closed doors. For those who still don’t even know the meaning of “home”, it may become more clear within the next year and a half.
This could also be the time to cut cords with certain family members who lack genuine respect and integrity, and to move beyond manipulations and expectations placed upon us by maternal or paternal figures. None of us are our parents, their mistakes or their projections! Ultimately, we are each our own sovereign being. As we grow and mature, we realize that it is up to ourselves as individuals to support and defend ourselves against evil, including the kind that is self-imposed.
For others with a more fortunate upbringing, the North Node transiting Cancer could indicate a stronger bonding with or reconnection with long-lost family members. Whether fortunate or unfortunate in early life, this period may also indicate the building of a new family (giving birth and parenting).
Building a home and nesting within it obviously means different things to different people. We don’t all have the same desires and enjoy the same things. Some prefer living alone, others with a family unit, significant other or pets. Whatever your perfect home ideal is, now is the time to put energy toward finding, building or enhancing that. This could be your own personal castle, a place of rich beauty, a garden sanctuary or simply bringing more comfort and security into your current abode. Also this doesn’t mean staying home all the time and not going anywhere. To the contrary, when home is actually restful as it should be, operating and moving successfully outward from that place becomes so much easier.
There will be a general focus on gathering food and provisions, perhaps interior design and house remodeling, and striking a balance between inner needs and outer demands.
Saturn-Pluto conjunct the South Node – Corrupt Power Structures Collapse
The Saturn-Pluto conjunction which occurs roughly every 34 years, is a very powerful and reformative aspect building up to 2020 and it will begin to transit the South Node in Capricorn around March of 2019, gaining momentum between July and October of 2019. All of these things increase the potency of the U.S. Pluto Return in 2022, which has already begun to build in effects, even for those who do not reside on U.S. Territory. The massive deconstruction of political structures and schemes has created a global economic crisis similar to the one experienced during the Great Depression. People all around the world have been displaced from their homes, have lost their jobs or families and in some cases have lost everything they had due to so-called natural disasters, a widespread financial collapse, and a relentless attack on every aspect of humanity itself by greedy globalists. The New World Order has been thrust upon us but there are those who stand and fight against it, completely intent on exposing and smashing its very foundations. Some say the Third World War is coming but it’s already on!
Cancer and Capricorn are cardinal signs, known for getting things going. Cancer is represented by the Crab, with a hard, cold exterior hiding its soft interior to crawl into when threatened. The shell may also be symbolized as a coat of armor, as Cancer stands ready for a battle he or she honestly does not want to fight but cannot escape. The battle may be stalled but ultimately must be faced. So when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Cancer has hidden strength to draw upon that comes as a surprise even to himself, especially when defending loved ones. Absolutely nothing will get in the way, and that is the best approach to be taken this year while moving toward goals and building firm foundations. Don’t let anything or anyone get in the way of making your heart’s fondest dreams come true or protecting who and what’s valuable. Jupiter in Sagittarius gives us that extra kick to make some real headway in 2019.
Those with prominent house placements and/or planets in Cancer or Capricorn will experience some of the strongest shifts relating to their homes and family life between now and May of 2020. By the way, the United States of America is a “Cancer child”. There will be a dismantling of old structures and ancestral dynamics that no longer support the interests and objectives of the current career, livelihood, family and home life. In some cases this points toward a radical spiritual transformation that simultaneously means leaving the old life behind for what could be a completely new one.
If indeed, “home is where the heart is”, the North Node in Cancer will point the way there for all of us. Many argue about the directive roles between the heart, soul, brain and mind. Experiments performed by the Heart Math Institute have revealed that there more neurons moving from the heart to the brain than vice versa, meaning that the heart has its own innate intelligence that can properly guide us if we truly take heed of its messages. The choice is then ours in whether to follow our hearts or remain stuck in fear-based mental patterns and in the false constructs that have been laid out for us like mouse traps in a maze.
